Decor/flower amount?

how much did you pay for the total amount for your decor and flowers at the wedding reception??

Re: Decor/flower amount?

  • Our venue already has lots of plants, ferns, potted flowers, and "decorations" so our bill is around $1200 if I remember correctly.
Thats 12 centerpieces, 10 wedding party, my bouquet, and 7 bouts/corsages

50 bucks total. Mine were completely DIY though and extremely simple. I've heard of girls on my local board paying upwards of 4k. To me, that was too much to spend as our whole budget was only 5k. However, they had to funding and I will say, their flowers were GORGEOUS! Most of those ladies also had pretty large weddings with a lot of detail too. So taking into consideration all that they had done, that cost seemed pretty accurate.

EDIT: Decor cost : I purchases table-cloths & overlays which probably totaled up to about $100 ? I bought my own as opposed to renting so that I could resale and regain all the costs occurred by them. Which I did. Win.

I also bought votive candles , 8" octagon mirrors & bud vases for the centerpieces. Thrifty shopping and coupons totaled this up to about $40? Again, it was all resold.

4 potted hyacinths were bought at Lowes for the aisle and those were like $15 total I believe.

We also bought all of the catering stuff and what not, but I wouldn't technically consider that as decor.

    Good Luck! :o)

  • I went the DIY route. Total cost $540

Cost for vases, votive holders, charger (to go under the centerpiece), votive candles, floral tape, wire, and ribbon = $140
Cost for flowers from fiftyflowers.com and flowers and freshness.com = $400

    This made:
    4 bouquets
    9 corsages
    10 bouts
    20 centerpieces

  • I am paying 130.00.  I just did bouquets and corsages.  We are doing for centerpieces: glass bowls filled with stones and water with floating candles instead.  our venue has this stuff for free, so we decided against flower centerpieces.  i think some people spend WAY to much on flowers!

our bill was somewhere around 10,000

we got coursages and boutineers for the moms, dads, grandparents, etc. but we also did for the godparents (because we are both close to ours)

my bouquet, the girls bouquets (6 bms), then 2 jrs and a flower girl. ring bearer flower.

our centerpieces were gorgeous. they were some high and some low and they cost between $325 and $425 each. we had about 200 people at our wedding.

then they did an arrangement for the cake table, and our sweetheart table.

we also had a toss away bouquet and we did the 'how long have you been married dance' and the winner got a bouquet.

this also includes the cost of my bridal portraits bouquet.

we also had a C and M made out of flowers

  • $325 total for flowers from Whole Foods and silk boutonnieres from Etsy.

I think I paid about $50 total for centerpieces using Oriental Trading, Whole Dollar and Home Depot finds.
