Anyone grow their own parsley?

I'm having problems! Does anyone grow herbs? I posted this on the G&L board on the nest but was wondering if anyone here had experience. I have a parsley plant that I've managed to take care of and learn about. I love to garden but this is my first herb. I recently dried it out and stored it in a regular "Ball" glass jar from the grocery store with an air-tight lid, and after about a week and a half it was yellowy green and soft, no longer "dried". I dried it by laying all the leaves flat and putting them in the microwave for 45 seconds, flipping them over and doing another 45 seconds. Could use some advice on what I'm doing wrong and how to fix this, thanks!

I grow my own parsley but instead of drying it, I chop it up and put it in a ziploc bag in the freezer.  Then I just pull a chunk off when I want it.

It's closer to fresh parsley that way, which is how I prefer it.

Wow...ambitious folks! :-P I went with FH to Lowe's and he was looking at power tools while I got sidetracked by the fresh potted herbs. I want to start an herb graden or even a real garden in the backyard. We love fresh vegetables and cook with them often, so having ready access to just off the vine/branch/whatever would be so awesome. But I'm kind of concerned now that we are planning to look for a puppy (was going to get one last week but postponed it sadly) next year and I don't want our little furbaby to ruin my hard work in the little garden...*sigh*. Perhaps I will just start with a basil plant, my favorite herb mmmmmm!

Basil plants are so easy! I actually always forget that I have one, look at what I wrote - I wrote parsley was my first. Which isn't true because I have a basil plant! LOL. They grow like weeds and don't require much attention.

So glad to hear Basil is easy!!  I'll be surrounding our house and yard in Basil when we move to AR.  Horseflies hate the stuff, and they LOVE to attack me - I mean, leave FI alone, attack me no matter what.  For example:

FI and I were in AR looking at land.  A horsefly came buzzing around and chased us down the hill (I think we crossed into it's territory).  We thought we lost it but it came buzzing at me so I ran and jumped into the car and shut the door, and it hit the window and buzzed around the car for a few minutes until it finally landed on the windshield wiper.  FI got in the car and we left and went to his parents' house (10 minute drive).  We got out and it came at me.  I ran inside.  Later we went to look at trucks by taking the fourwheeler.  It must have followed us or hung onto it because when we got there (a mile away) it came at me again.  It was after me again when we got back to his parents' house.  The next day we went back to look at the land with FI's Mema and Papa in their truck and thankfully the windows were up because a horsefly started flying and hitting the back window (FI and I were in back).  I looked behind me and there were at LEAST 15 horseflies buzzing and hitting the back window - FI saw it too I'm not exaggerating.  We got there and they rolled down the windows and one went buzzing through the cab.  I freaked and they laughed.  The next day I sprayed Off ALL over me, in my hair (after I just took a shower) on my hat, on my jeans and arms - and they mostly stayed away.  We looked up what repels them and the internet said fresh cut or growing Basil.  Our house will be surrounded!!
