Anyone have any big plans for the non-holiday weekend!?

Ooh Ooh!! I do!!!

This weekend my bucket 'o crafts and I are making our way (yes, I just personified my craft bucket) to my mother's house where my lovely niece, SIL, and hopefully my nephew and I will be creating bouquets made of pine cones!  WEEEEEEE.

Hopefully I'll get those hair fascinators for my BMs (heheheheheehehe) done.

Personalized craft bucket? That is frickin sweet! My stuff is all over the place thanks to the FI moving in and stealing MY office/craft room. But I digress ...

You are going to have so much fun. I'm jealous. You have to post photos when you get done. I want to see these bouquets!!

We're not doing much. I have to work (reporting on a high school graduation. I know you're soooo jealous! LOL) and the we're hanging out with friends. Same as every Saturday. We're so boring.

I won't get to start my craft projects (my favors or my pinwheels for the aisle) until Aug. 7. Apparently, we are booked every weekend between now and then with work, birthday parties, camping and etc. And I still don't know how the hell that happened. Anyway, my craft posse (and yes I love saying that) can't even get together to do the work until then. And since I'm getting married on Sept. 18 .. Yeah, I know we're cutting it close.

ooh! You're the weekend before me.  I'll send you happy crafting thoughts so that you get it all done in time :)

I've been crafting like a mo-fo for months now... and finally things are getting done.. but I'm pretty much DIY'ing the whole thing.  eeps!!

I want to see the pinecone bouquets, they sound intriguing.

Do you feel like your DIY projects are taking over your house? We bought the house a year ago and one of the bedrooms didn't have anything in it for months. Now it's crammed with wedding stuff, which has also started to take over my library (bedroom #2) and the dining room.

You have my pity Snarky, graduations are sooo boring.

This is my fourth graduation this week. Yeah, now you REALLY pity me right? I've got two more to go next week. By the end of it, I feel like I deserve a diploma for being nice in my stories and not making editorial comments. Such as "yes - I know you're only 18 but HS is not necessarily the best years of your life. Call me when youre 21 and in college. Then tell me if that's still true!! " Smile

maaaaaaaaaaan, I want to get my craft on!   Sadly, I'll be stuck at work in the most ungodly hours (1-10pm) for the next three days.  I also work 6 of 7 days this next week, due to graduations, so Snarky, I feel your pain.  Lovin' the overtime, but no so much the-no-free-time.  AND it's trying to be sunny today!
My DIY has deff taken over our house.  There are bags of craft things everywhere.  You should have seen the place when I was making invitations...

Kizat, what all are you planing on DIYing?! Photographas por favor!

I've been really bad at taking pictures because I get so wrapped up in what I'm doing. hahaha.

    We did our own STDs.
I made the "flower people" baskets.
I'm making pretty much all of our attendant gifts..

    For the girls:
Bracelets with a pine cone charm
    Hair fascinators
and then we're filling them with "day of" essentials like qtips, tissues, chap stick, etc.

    For the gents:
Etched Mugs (we're doing those ourselves)
and I'm not sure what else FI is doing for them but I guess he has some stuff planned (Yep... he's crafting too!)

all of this stuff is going in bowls I made out of old vinyl records.

Then I'm DIYing the BM bouquets which are made out of pine cones, buttons, and feathers.  Sounds totally weird, I know.. but they actually look pretty awesome.  Got a lot done today.

And I've completely DIY'd all of my own jewelry.  I have a three strand bracelet.  I'm using pearls that I received as a gift from high school.  And I designed my wedding ring using the diamonds from my parents wedding set. (My father passed away last March.)

We're also DIY'ing all of our own food... which I babbled about in some other thread.

We're doing our own centerpieces, invites, and at the reception there will be a "kids corner" which we're sort of DIY'ing it.

We're going to have "kid's bags" with DIY coloring books, DIY'd heartshaped crayons, candy, DIY scavenger hunt with camera.

Ooh and I'm doing the bouts as well... and broaches for the mothers.

Honestly though, I can't blame the wedding for my house being over run by crafts.  It was already that way before I got engaged. haha.  But before it was just yarn, paint, and jewerly making stuff.  haha.

I'm just really really lucky because my wonderful fiance has taken over a few of the projects and is helping out with a lot of the other projects that I'm doing.  He's pretty much the most fantastic person ever.  *swoon* I love a man who can craft with me.

I am very envious of your crafting skillz.  It usually slows down at work during the summer (with the exception of wedding cakes/deliveries!) so I'm hoping to have some more free time to make some stuff.

    It's the weekend again!!!

We're etching GMs mugs tonight and then tomorrow I'm driving down to Eugene to see one of my BMs (hehehehehehe I'm really 12... i can't help it) and we'll be discussing which dress of her's she should wear...

I gave up on the whole... dressing other people stuff a while ago and told them all to just wear a dress they own...

luck would have it they all own a black dress... so we're gonna sash/wrap it up with red...

Otherwise, it's looking like a craft calm weekend for me!

Out of curiousity, what did you etch on your mugs? We're doing them too, and Chris wants their intials, first middle and last. Which is fine, except my brothers are groomsmen and we all have two middle names, so it's going to look wonky.

I love the glass etching idea. We talked about it for the groomsmen and my MOH brother but FI wanted to put "Dude" on them. Seriously. I told him I refused to etch that. But it still makes me laugh thinking about my brother picking up a mug and going "Dude??" with a weird look on his face!

Um, I personally love the "Dude" idea, it cracks me up. I wonder if I could get Chris to go for that

I pretty much used that stencil, but I modded it up a little bit ... but yeah... fun times.

I'm not saying "Dude" isn't funny. I think its hi-larious. But my brother -- and the other groomsmen -- probably wouldn't find it as funny as we do. And since these are gifts for them ... I figured we had better find something else. Right now we're thinking gift certificates. Simple and who doesn't love gift certificates??

We're doing the beer mugs and then stuffing them with things like beef jerky, cheese sticks, crackers, tissues, qtips, chapstick, wet knaps, and other day of necessities.
