A bit of drama/fallout from the wedding on Saturday. I'm curious to get some opinions on this.
In general our florist has been fantastic. We had them do bouquets, the corsages, bouts and then 2 "side pieces" to be used at our ceremony site. The florist has worked with our venue many times before and suggested that we put these side pieces up on pillars that they knew our venue had to use. Okay, cool, sounds good. At our final (phone) appointment we confirm that we will use the nicer vases with the understanding that we will need to return them after the wedding. It is noted in the contract.
Fast forward to the wedding. Apparently (I was not outside for any of this) but when the side pieces got put on the pillars my H immediately told them to take it down. It was pretty windy out and it was pretty obvious that these pieces didn't stand a chance on the pillars. They were moved from the pillars to the ground to help against the wind. Didn't help, both blew over and broke before the ceremony.
I am frustrated because I think the florist is going to try to make us pay for the vases. The design of these side pieces was ridiculous.

Obviously wayyyyy too top heavy and nothing to weigh it down. I think it's bull that they would utilize these vases when they knew our venue and that they were supposed to be on pillars. These things blew over when they were on the ground! They never stood a chance.

Here's a pic from the 2 seconds they were on the pillars.
Do you think they should make us pay for the vases?
