Hidden Gems in Mystic Area?

Hello Ladies!  I have been doing a lot of research on weddings in the Mystic area, and have found most venues to be on the more pricey side.  The man loves the idea of a wedding in Mystic, and I really want to try to make it happen on our tight budget.  So, do you ladies know of any hidden gems to host a wedding in the Mystic area (or up to 20/30 minutes away)?  I am talking about a venue that doesn't usually pop up when you google "Mystic weddings."  I am open to a lot of different options, and even a restaurant would be fabulous.  Thanks so much for your help!  :)

I've found our site to be relatively affordable at Latitute 41/Mystic Seaport... but I'm guessing that's one of the things that pops up when you google it haha?

Ditto - using Latitude/Coastal Gourmet/Mystic Seaport for our wedding as well.  What size wedding are you looking to have - that's where a lot of traditional venues jack up their cost (with "minimum" guest size they'll allow - eg. a lot of places require 75-100 minimum guests and at $70+ dollars a head that's where it gets costly).

FI's cousin got married at The Mystic Arts Gallery a few years ago.  I wasn't with FI at the time so I didn't go, but it seems like they didn't have any complaints.  Wish I had more info....but try googling that.

There's also the Mystic Yachting Center. It seems like a smaller place, but really cute and right on the water. I tried contacting them for pricing info but unfortunately never got a response... maybe you'll have better luck :)

We got what I consider to be really reasonable prices at the Mystic Aquarium, but it's more or less comparable to pricing at Mystic Seaport, so if that's out of your budget, then I'm no help.

I would advise against choosing somewhere with a significant venue cost (like the Branford house) if you want to save, since you'll still need to bring food and potentially furniture in.  However, if you are willing to consider more creative food options, finding a venue (like the Mystic Arts Center) and bringing in your own caterer might help you save.
