Number of blooms: roses, calla lilies, and cockscomb

I had our initial meeting with our florist yesterday, and when I got home, I realized that the number of flowers she suggested for our bouquet would create an entirely TOO large bouquet!

Her recommendations:

24 x black magic roses
10 x Aubergine mini calla lilies
10 x red cockscomb

When I called my mother to tell her of our selections, she said, "24 roses?! Your first bouquet was only 10 roses, and it was quite large due to the size of the blooms."  (Married once before)

When I started doing some sketching and such, I realized with the above number of blooms, my bouquet would not only be HUGE but pricey.

I chose the calla lilies and cockscomb as "fillers" in my bouquet and to give it more texture.  I know the black magic roses (black baccara) are pricey so I can only imagine how much 24 will be.  The florist is going to work up a quote and get back to me, but I was wondering.....

I just want a bouquet that is about 10" - 12" in diameter - more on the 10" side though.  Would 10, 10, and 10 be suitable? I plan on discussing this with my florist, but I wanted to get others' opinions, too.

    Hi there!

We recently did a wedding with about 24 roses and 10 mini calla lilies per bouquet, and you're right, it makes a very large bouquet- but this is what we were going for. If you did 10, 10, and 10 I think it would look great.

However, you might consider doing 12-15 roses, and maybe 8 callas and 6-8 cockscomb, since you mentioned that you wanted the callas and cockscomb to be more for filler and texture.

    Good luck!!
