Bridesmaids dresses

So, I will be getting married next June. The wedding will be outside and it will be kind of casual. I will have 5 bridesmaids and 2 junior bridesmaids. They will be wearing the same color but all in different dresses. Everyone had decided on what dress they wanted to wear and I was very happy with the outcome. Now I have found out my sister who is also my MOH is pregnant . She will be about 8 mths for the wedding. We have to change her dress and because this will be her third child it was suggested she not wear satin (which is what all the other bridesmaids will be in) but instead a chiffon or jersey type dress. Would it look really bad to have a mix of satin and chiffon dresses? I don't know what to do. I don't want to change everyones dresses but I want to make sure it all still flows. Any suggestions would be helpful thank you

I couldn't pick satin and chiffon out of a lineup. As long as the color is close enough, the difference shouldn't be noticeable, especially if the colors are dark. She'll probably be more comfortable in chiffon or jersey, and a comfortable bridesmaid is a beautiful bridesmaid.

What does the number of children she has have to do with what fabric she wears? Could she wear satin if its her 1st kid? That makes no sense to me. Please explain.

She should wear whatever fabric and style are most comfortable for her. Just ask her. At 8 months, comfort is paramount. She will look beautiful and radiant no matter what fabric she chooses. Unless you want Stepford bridesmaids, its not an issue.

I'm not following the logic behind the suggestion that she switch from satin to chiffon because the baby will be her 3rd child...but there are plenty of maternity bridesmaids' gowns available in many different types of fabrics...if you decided to have her wear a chiffon and the other girls in satin for whatever reason, I don't think anyone's going to really be scrutinizing that. As long as she's comfortable in the dress selection (whatever thge fabric), I'm sure she'll look lovely and that's what people will notice most.

It will be fine if she's in a different fabric. What fabric were the BMs wearing at the last 3 weddings you went to? Yeah, I don't know either, and I'm sort of obsessed with weddings.

At all the weddings I've been to IRL where one BM was pregnant, she was in a totally different dress anyway, so a different fabric for just her makes sense.

She is the MOH, so it won't matter if she looks different then the others anyway.

My sister (MOH) will be 8 months pregnant. 2 girls are wearing 1 dress, 2 are wearing another, and 1 is wearing a third. They are all dark blue with a light blue sash, and knee length. My sister is wearing all blue, floor length maternity dress by the same designer.

Just make sure your MOH will be comfortable in whatever she wears. She's going to look different even if they wear the same dress.... please don't make it more difficult for her.

I am having all of my bridemaids wear different styles of dresses. I told them pick out a dress that you will be comfortable in, they just have to be all the same color. So if you pick a different fabric for the dress but it is in the same color, I wouldnt worry about it.

As MOH it's perfectly fine if she's in something of a totally different color/fabric. At 8 mos, focus on what is going to look great on her.

I don't understand why it being her 3rd kid makes a difference. I can't tell the difference between those fabrics. Well, I'd recognize jersey, but that'd probably still only be up close - I'm short and rarely can see much of the bridal party standing up there anyway.

I'm guessing the 3rd child thing is relevant because it means she has an idea of what her body is like at 8 months pregnant and what fabrics are most comfortable or look best on her at that point. Even if it doesn't end up looking the same as the rest of the dresses, it should be fine since MOH dresses are sometimes different anyhow.
