Poll: Who's cooking?

Who's cooking this year for Thanksgiving? My mom and fam are FINALLY coming to my house in GA for a holiday so I've got the honors this year - but it's definitely not my first time making a turkey dinner. I was at the grocery store yesterday picking up some stuff and the cashier (looked about 40ish) asked if I was cooking. She said she had never made a turkey before and her daughter was this year. It just seemed odd to me to have never cooked one in your whole life!

My aunt always hosts thanksgiving and there just isn't enough room in the Apt FI and I live in to have both of our families over.

Never ever! When would I have cooked a whole turkey for DH and myself?  We don't host holidays yet either. Maybe once we have kids.

You could always make a small one. 6-8lbs? Enjoy the left overs for days. Turkey Bolognese, turkey salad, turkey sandwiches. I don't know. Maybe it's the cook in me.

I had to pick special snowflake because I am cooking a bunch of things but we're bringing them to the IL's since they have more room.

    I put Special Snowflake ...

We are going to FI's aunt's house in the morning and will probably eat a little, then we will come back to our hometown and go to my parents' house to eat a little more.

We had purchased a turkey because FI expected to host a GTG for the Giants game a few weeks ago and we were going to cook a pre-Thanksgiving meal, then it kept getting postponed for various reasons and the turkey stayed in the freezer. So finally we just said screw it, and I'm just going to make the turkey for us so that we have leftovers. I've made a turkey breast before but never a whole bird, but it doesn't seem very hard.

Technically, I don't eat turkey so I don't cook it and never have.  DH does it all, and I'll cook the other stuff.

My FMIL (btw, this is the first time I am using this acronym :) is throwing us an engagement party in Atlanta (where my FILs live) and that's where we are going for Thanksgiving. The party will be on Saturday, after the holidays. I will make the cake. I don't like cooking and FIs BIL is a great chef and he normally cooks everything for TG dinner.

We've only been at our new house for 2 months and it's still not completely furnished and ready for people to spend the holidays here.  Plus, everything I need for cooking that I got at my bridal shower hasn't been opened and put away yet (shower was last week).  So we're still doing Thanksgiving at my parents house.  I usually don't help with cooking, but I do bake.

my mom hosts thanksgiving since our house is still under renovation.  But we all cook 1 or 2 things, and bring them so she's not stuck doing ALL the cooking.  She usually does the turkey though.

We are going to a restaurant this year.  My father is the real cook and he just doesn't have it in him to cook.  We host Christmas Day, but there is no way we could do both in our apt.

My mom always cooks for Thanksgiving, and I'm fine with that.
