Plated plus action stations

Has anyone chosen this combo?

We're having a diinner reception and it's a destination wedding so not super formal. The RD is already set as a luau style buffet so that's why we're not choosing buffet for the reception. Our plated entrees will be beef, fish, veg, children's. We'd like to consider action stations for second helpings for those wanting more, our caterer offers a veg pasta and sushi for example, but also other meat and fish options. Oh, and we'll have a cocktail hour with passed apps and open bar too.

I doubt the stations would get much action honestly, especially because you're also having a cocktail hour as well with food.

I'd spend the money instead on some sweet desserts -- a big Viennese table would be awesome.

my family is different cause we eat alot so plated wouldnt be enough so i would need action stations to make sure noone go hungry and also u have open bar so maybe u could add a pasta station
  • Hi,

Thanks for your responses, we have decided that instead of the action station for second helpings during dinner service, we'll do a "late night snack"!  Although since our event has to close at 10pm, it won't actually be very late night at all, but I figure we can have it come out at 9:30.

I like this idea better. Give people a bit of time to digest before going onto another couse!
