Suggestions for tracking the guest list??

Hi - I'm putting together our nearly-final guest list, with lists created from me, FI, his parents and my parents. They're currently on four (fairly poor) excell spreadsheets. I know the Knot has a planner, and I've seen a few others online. Did any of you find one that you really liked? That looked appealing but also tracked what you need?

    i would put them all on 1 excel sheet :) as rsvps come in just put in yes/ no

    In excel if you click "new" from the menu you can look up wedding guestlist tracker spreadsheet templates. I'm using one that I found and it's pretty good. It has all the information categories you could possibly want. After I found it I just merged our guest lists into one sheet.

    I would not recommend The Knot's guest list planner.   A lot of people have had trouble with it (including TK losing absolutely all information and users being left with nothing....)

    I've been using the knot guest list planner but will be moving it over to a spreadsheet soon. It'll be much easier to track once we send out invites and start getting rsvps.

    I used one of the templates and listed all the guests. Be sure to add a column for how many people attend (ie. if you invite a couple and only 1 attends), a column for "notes" (ie. aany special info for the escort cards) and a column for how you know them (ie. bride-family, bride-friend/school, bride-friend/work, groom-family, etc.). Then, when you are ready to do tables, sort by this and that will help give you a rough idea of the groupings. We even stuck a formula at the bottom that added up guests per table, so we could see how many were almost full, so we could move people around, etc. Some venues may ask for this list in the event an escort card gets misplaced, they can look up the guest's table.

    Use invisible ink on the cards that you send out invites and that way you know when they RSVP who it was.

    You can also use it on the shower cards as in when they give you a gift write what they gave you, and who it was from in case their writing was illegible...
