Other all inclusives besides Sandals?

I've heard on this board that some feel the Sandals AI resorts are overpriced and that there are others in the Caribbean that are just as nice but less expensive. Can anyone provide me the names of any of those? Thanks!

Oh yes, definitely look into the Couples resorts. Just as nice if not even more nice than Sandals! Also check out Palace Resorts and The Excellence Resorts, both of which are also very nice! All of these companies have sales throughout the year and if you take advantage of one of those, you can get a good deal!

Look into Dreams and Secrets. We are doing Secrets in the DR. What we liked about Dreams and Secrets versus Sandals is that they don't have their logo all over everything like Sandals does. That make a huge difference for me. I didn't want to feel like I was on a drug rep vacation.

Couples in Jamaica got great reviews and are so much more affordable than sandals. And include more! Were going in June.

Thank you guys for your info. So it sounds like the countries that have AI that are not Sandals are DR, Mexico and Jamaica. I will check all of these out!

Yeah we're doing couples in jamaica next july!! We're so excited it priced out way less than sandals for an oceanfront room and has amazing amenities and excursions that are included!

Excellence in the Dominican was amazing! We had a great time, the service was superb, food was really good and had a large variety of it, the beach was perfect as well as the pool. We are nervous that nothing else is going to compare to it! I suggest doing the upgrade to Club level so you have more cabanas on the beach, a ongoing buffet which often helps fill you in between meals, and upgraded in-room mini-bars.

Palace Resorts is great and they have a really good promotion now. You get a $1,500 "resort credit" that you can use for the spa, golf, excursions, etc.
