Candy buffet

So we are thinking of doing a candy buffet as our favor. We have been having a hard time thinking of favor ideas. We don't want something that guests will just throw away after the wedding. Our color is yellow so I was going to do a candy buffet with all different yellow candies and have personalized bags with a saying on it that will tie our color/theme together. FI likes the idea but wasn't sure if he liked the fact that guests will have to go up and get their own favor. Part of me kind of agrees and fears that it may turn into a clutter of people or that too much of the guests attention will be on the candy table.. Anyone have opinions on the candy buffets? As a guest if you would like it, or if you have done it for your own favors how did it turn out. TIA

Candy buffets have been pretty popular at weddings lately and I think people will like it (well, I don't know your circle of friends, but mine would like it).  Honestly, favors aren't required and you are right - only the edible ones are the kind people tend to enjoy (with some exceptions).  This one is fun and whimsical.  Why not?

That sounds like a great idea and I was thinking of something like it but now I think that the candy thing would be much easier and cost friendly. All of my friends know me as the candy girl anyway. I love candy and always have it. It would fit us perfectly.

My sister did that and it worked out well!  People seemed to go up at random moments throughout the night, and there was never an issue of the tabe being mobbed.

We made sure we had PLENTYof candy, so there was no sense that people had to grab some before it was gone. ;)

Thanks girls. I went out and got all of the vases/jars today and got a good bit for a pretty reasonable price. Just need to figure out candy now =)

I think people will love it whether it matches your colors.I'm having a Christmas candy buffet to go along with my Christmas themed wedding. I just bought candy I love and know other people love. It was a big hit. I think people don't really care how it looks as long as they see their favorite candy.
