AM I ON SCHEDULE???

in June 2013 Weddings

I have 10 months to go before my wedding.  I've already booked the reception hall and the dj; the photographer and videographer are family friends.  I'm having the ceremony at my church and I know what I want the centerpieces to look like.   I've looked at checklists and it seems like I'm on track.

I'm just curious what everyone has done or is doing at 10 months out, thanks!!

    Like MrsKaiser said, it must have something to do with the area you are in. Since I'm needing many things that are also in weddings (my event is a renewal), I've been trying to get some things accomplished early, but the florist, baker, and a bunch of venues I've visited won't take reservations or make contracts this early. So, I'm in planning mode and will give it a few more months.

    P.S. mellow, I don't think we've seen you around these parts (June 2013) before, so congrats and welcome!! Take a minute to fill out the role call sticky at the top of the thread if you like; a lot of us enjoy reading them.


    And totally disregard this if you've been hanging around for a while, I just don't recall seeing you post before. But I also have a memory like a sieve, so there's that.

    You sounds on track to me. I agree, a lot of it depends on where you live and the popularity of June for that area. My area books up fast so we have a lot done already. Venue(ceremony and reception), in house caterering and all in house rentals (tables, chairs, linens, vases, etc), my dress, BM dresses picked out but not ordered, photographer, DJ, hotel block, wedding party selected. I bought my BM gifts already, some of the silk flowers we'll use for decor, save the dates already went out, RD space is booked. I still need a baker and a florist, but that's about it for me. I've been engaged for nine months though, so I had a lot of time to get to this point.

    You sound like you're on track! So far I've bought my dress, booked the photographer, church booked, reception poked, florist booked, cake booked, save the dates in the mail, and about to look at BM dresses next month. There are still lots of little details to be done but I'm sure those will be next.

    I definitely think you are on schedule. I am getting a little panicky, because I feel like I have so much left to do still. I have reception venue, photographer, dj and lighting, photobooth for favors, we have our date reserved at the church, and hopefully it will be confimed next weekend at our premarital counseling. The things I am working on right now are booking a hotel block, finding my dress, BM dresses, videographer, and cake.

    You are all waaaaay ahead of me! I've sincerely got nothing done but I'm also in transition! I'm moving At the end of the month so all my thoughts and energy have been on relocating. Once I move, my fiancé and I are going to start planning. I hope, after reading what everyone whose posted has done that we aren't starting too late!

    Wow, you girls are amazing! I feel like I need to catch up...

    So far I have our venue (ceremony & recpetion in the same place) booked, which includes the catering, bar, servers, bartenders, tables, chairs, linens, tableware, etc. The tasting for the caterer isn't until January, so we will finalize the menu then.

    I also have our photographer booked and our engagement session is set for early October.

    My dress and veil have been chosen but not ordered yet... I will be ordering next month (Sept).

    Now I am focusing on finding a band/musicians. I have contacted a lighting company for a quote and am waiting on that. I've also been researching flowers and florists, but don't think I'll be talking to florists until October or November.

    But now, after reading about all your progress, I feel like I should hurry up and find a hotel to block out some rooms in advance. All the big stuff (band, flowers, cake, hotel, car service) that I have yet to do is making me nervous. It's weird, some days I feel way ahead of the curve and others I feel like I'm trying desperately to catch up. All the while I am trying to stay as stress free as possible and lose weight (about 15ibs.)

    Sigh... I know it will all come together, but this waiting and planning can feel tedious.

    I must say though, that I am really glad I fould this forum to chat with you girls that are planning for the same time of year... many on the same day!!! Yay June 8th!!
