Registering online

I'm planning on registering online at BB&B, Walmart, and JcPenney or Kohls. If you register online and pick the items, am I also registered at the store? If I create the registry online, can people only buy gifts online or can they go into the store and see my registry?

Also, if you register for more than one place how do you determine what you want from each store. Do you register for similar items at each place or do you choose different items?

Re: Registering online

  • You are also registered in the store, but some stores have items that are "online only" so not all of the items may be able to be purchased in the store.  If the items are available in the store, people will be able to print your registry and use it in the store just as if you had registered there.

Do not register for different versions of the same item at different stores.  How you split it up is up to you.  Figure out what brand of blender you want, and then register for it at the store that has that brand at the best price.  Or register for bedroom/bathroom items at one store and kitchen items at a different store.  Or pick randomly.  Just make sure that you have a good range of prices on each registry.

  • Yes, registries can be accessed online and in store.  Stock does sometimes vary by store.

Don't register for duplicate items unless you want duplicate gifts.  Either see which store has your favorite version of each item or register by category such as linens at one store, kitchen gadgets at another, dishes at the third store.
  • I'm just going to add my two cents in regarding registering online.

I've had two wedding recently where I wanted to buy a bridal shower gift and a wedding gift for both.  I'm not really an online shopper for those types of things... I'm more of a last minute girl.  :)

ANYWAY... both couples did their registries online, which was probably convenient for them, but totally inconvenient for the guest.  There were very few items that were available in the stores, most were online only.

I actually had to detour from the one girls registry for her bridal shower because I couldn't find anything in the store.

    Just a thought to consider.
