Valencia Ballroom /york expo center

I have been looking into these two places, but atland catering I guess who is in charge at renting out the complexes arent good about getting back to me with the questions i asked. Dose anyone have any information on these two places?

I am getting married at the York Expo Center (Pennsylvania Room) on 11/20/10. I actually meet with the wedding coordinator (Jayme) there about 2 hours ago. She is new at the job and just took over about a month ago. She apologized to me today for not being prompt about getting back to my e-mails right away but said the first few weeks were crazy. I would try contacting and asking directly for her.

As far as the Altland house catering, I am very pleased with it. I was at a wedding about 2 months ago and the food was very good. I LOVE how everything is taken car of through them. They do my setting up, food, cake, decorating, bartending and tearing down!!! I literally drop off everything 3 days before my wedding and they take care of everything else.

I researched other venues in the area and also found them very reasonable for everything you get in the package.

I'm using the Valencia Ballroom for my wedding reception. And so far communication hasn't been bad. I always try to call because I feel then you have them on the phone an email is so passive. BUT the Altland house has packages that take care of everything. Cake, food, limo (if you want), alcohol, some decorations, linens. I've been pleased. They're having an open house on the Sunday (8/22) might want to call and see if you can get into that. It's a great way to see the Valencia and all they can offer. I'm excited lol

I am suppose to be getting married at the Valencia Ballroom this October, however, they have been very disappointing! Yes, there packages are wonderful and are priced well too! I have been through 4 different coordinators within the past year and have been given different answers to the same questions, I was told I would have my rehearsal on a certain date and time and when they sent me my detail sheet they said sorry can't be that time we have since booked another party!, the 2 taste testings I have gone to have been horrible (food was not warm and salads were soggy), they put charges on my detail sheet that they never discussed with me! When I called and spoke with the director of sales, she simply said sorry this is policy and even though the coordinators didn't tell you things correctly I can't do anything about it! So I am going to another venue today (less then 45 days prior to the wedding) so I can leave that place! It's such a same because the Valencia is beautiful, but the catering company is horrible!

I am sorry you had a horrible experience, but i'm glad i heard your experience it helps me choose my other choice very easily, i think i will just go with royal manchester golf course, i met with them and they are amazing, they seem so nice and the packages are good

Royal Manchester Golf Links is wonderful, I met with them yesterday! Unfortunately, they were out of my budget, but I think you will be very happy there! Best of luck!
