Ok we are in the single digits and having MAJOR issues with the DJ Company we are working with. For one, we have been trying to contact him for the last couple weeks to confirm our final appointment this monday. My FI went as far as to find him on facebook and send him a message today, only 5 minutes later the DJ coordinator calls my phone, in which i'm swamped at work and can't answer, darnit! He leaves me this message about the appointment confirmation, in which he tells me 8pm at night. What??? We had scheduled it for 3pm! He goes on by telling me that they switched our DJ, the one we have already met with and gave all our plans, got to know him a little, etc. Their excuse is that they double booked that date for this specific DJ. FI is not a happy camper right now.
To add to this, we paid our deposit back in February to reserve the date, but we never signed any type of contract with them, they told us we would sign one when we paid it in full. About 3 weeks ago, we got an email reminding us that our final payment is due within 10 days of the wedding. We were ready to pay, but was trying to get in contact with them before doing so. Nobody responded to the 5 phone calls and 3 emails in the last couple weeks, and FI was getting irritated so he said he wasn't giving them his money until they responded.
After finding out that they switched our DJ a week before the wedding, someone we have never met, we came to terms that we weren't going to sign the contract with them and drop their service. We found another DJ, someone I went to school with actually, and he knows my whole family, very personable, and puts on a heck of a show when DJ'ing, so we are meeting with him this weekend. He works for a DJ service, but surprisingly didn't have anything booked as of yet for next weekend! I know its not a good thing to drop a service within a week of the wedding, but we lost all faith in the DJ service we originally booked. Sorry so long, just had to get this rant out, nothing like spending the last day at work trying to figure out what we are gonna do, but looks like its going to work out after all.
