Need Location Ideas

Hey everyone! I just got engaged, and I've heard that I should book my venue pretty far in advance. I started looking, and I'm so lost. I'm looking for something around Charlotte because I live in Pineville, my parents live in Belmont, and my groom's parents live in Harrisburg. I really want an outdoor venue, with a possible indoor option. I would love a kind of vintage rustic feel like a farm or vineyard. I'm not having much luck online; I haven't really seen anything that jumps at me. I thought maybe there were some hidden treasures I just couldn't find. If you have any ideas please help :) Thank you!

I used to go to Wingate University (left 2007) and they are about 45 minutes east of charlotte, they have a beautiful campus, with an outdoor "auditorium" seating area...depending on the time of year/day of the week you may want to look into other college campuses in the area. FH and i are actually getting married in a couples private garden modeled after old time england gardens/buildings...theres lots of possibility with outdoors, see if a family near you that has a barn would be will ing to rent it out. drive by "oh sorry to bother you, we are hoping to plan a barn style wedding and  your land is so beautiful, would you be willing to let us rent it in...(date) " you never know!!!! good luck

Have you looked at the Dairy Barn?  It's in Fort Mill but sounds like exactly what you're looking for.

You should check out the Blowing Rock area. It is a little less know, but an absolutly stunning area of North Carolina. I am attending a wedding show there November 18th-20th. They are actually transporting to different venues for tours! You should check out the show's website http://www.weddingshowofthencmtns.com
