When is soon enough to freak out about the weather?

I know a 12 day forecast is not something to be trusted (and so likewise, being bummed about the 15 + day forecast for my honeymoon is even less trustworthy), but it's bad.

People who know more about weather than I do-- what is an accurage amount of time to believe a forecast? Five minutes, right? ;)

Re: When is soon enough to freak out about the weather?

  • NO need to worry - the last two times we have gone to Mexico it showed rain every day. it ended up being 90 and sunny everyday except one where there was some overcast - still could sit outside and enjoy. No worries:)
  • Not accurate AT ALL this early out!  Block the weather websites from your computer or you will drive yourself crazy!

  • Yea, I don't ever really trust a weather forecast, don't stress about something you have no control over!!
It doesn't have to be perfect to be everything I want!

  • Girl!  I've been freaking out too!!!!!!  I know I'm a big dummy for looking at the weather forecast.  We are getting married in vegas and the ONLY day it is suppose to rain is the day we get married.  :(  when i checked three days ago it was suppose to be sunny and 80.  since then it's been 74 and rain.  Every time I look at it, I want to throw up.  I need to quit looking at the website, but I can't! hahahaha

  • Yeah, even the morning of your wedding the weather won't be accurate!  I shot a wedding that called for rian all day but it actually only rained during the ceremony and the sky was overcast for the rest, which amde for great pictures!

I suggest you talk to your photog about a back up location for pix in case it rains!
  • I wouldn't be worried about it until the night before.  The forecasts are almost NEVER accurate.  Don't torture yourself by looking at the weather more than 2 days ahead - even that is likely to change.
  • Hah, I'm 19 days out and I've been stalking accuweather like its my job. It changes daily. I don't know why I continue making myself nuts.

  • I don't think you should worry about the weather at all. What's worrying about it going to do? Even if it's 15 minutes before the ceremony starts and I start worrying, it's not going to make it stop raining lol. Anyway, I may sound grouchy. I apologize if I do. I think you should just put it out of your mind and concentrate instead on making sure you enjoy it no matter. If you're having an outside wedding, have a back-up plan just in case, but don't cause yourself extra stress over something that you have absolutely no control over. Maybe say a prayer to the One who does have control and leave it at that. :-)

  • Right now my forecast is showing high of 69 and sunny. I refuse to look at it until the day before and will just believe that it will be accurate! A week ago it was showing rainy and cold, so that just shows you how dependable extended forecasts are.

I've been checking the weather history for the day of my wedding and in true Ohio fashion no two days are the same. Northeastern OH is known for strange weather for example having to use both the air conditioning and the heat in the same day. I can't really see that far out yet (18 days), but I know I probably will as soon as I can, because I love to torture myself....lol

ETA: Accuweather is showing 71 and sunny, lets hope it's right!
