Mexico all inclusive resorts poll

Hello there, we're leaning towards going to the Mayan Rivierra for our honeymoon and have narrowed it down to 2 resorts, please consider taking this quick poll and adding any opinions, thoughts, etc that would be helpful in making a decision...thanks in advance

I've never stayed at either of those places.. we stayed at the Barcelo and the Grand Palladium Colonial. They were both amazing.. the Grand Palladium was part of a HUGE complex.. and you can use everything at all of the other resorts in the complex. They have a little "shuttle" thing that will bring you around everwhere.
The Barcelo was also really nice.. ..they had a disco which was fun - there were actually people in there every night. If you haven't already looked into either of these, I would check them out. They both had their pros and cons, but between those 2, I'd probably prefer Grand Palladium.

I can't say which is better, as I've only stayed at one, but we really enjoyed El Dorado Royale. The food is excellent (part of their claim to fame), which generally can't be said at most AIs.

I haven't stayed at either place, but Excellence RM was our runner-up for our HM and it seemed amazing!

(We opted for Secrets Maroma)

I can't comment on either, but Excellence was a contender for us. We also went with Secrets Maroma and loved it.

Like above. It was our 2nd runner up, but we are going with secrets maroma.. the only reason why is for the location.

From my research (we didn't end up choosing either of those places, but went with the Valentin Imperial Maya instead), El Dorado is more luxury. I heard that they don't have any a la carte or snack stuff during the day; it is all gourmet food all the time. If you want more of a fun party atmosphere that is more laid back, then go with Excellence.

Graysquirrel, how was the Valentin? I was looking over a bunch of resorts on Expedia, and Valentin had numerous guest reviews, that were more positive than negative.....
