where did you register???

hi ladies...FI and are trying to pick two places to register and we're considering Macys, Bed bath & beyond, and Kohls. Does anyone have any recs? I know kohls is really affordable and has sales alll the time so I'm leaning towards that, but they don't have as many things as BBB.....

We did BBB. They are so easy to work with and they return stuff for cash. Definite bonus is you get a lot of extra or unwanted stuff and dont want to use it for store credit.

We did BB&B, Macy's and Pottery Barn...had to set them all  up for our engagement party and it worked well - we'll have to completely redo them next year closer to our wedding but so far we've been really happy with the three, esp. BB&B.

I just had a lot of problems with my Kohls registry.  I got a lot of complaints from my guests that Kohls automatically ships to the bride and groom.  Guests can not have gifts shipped to themselves.  I called Kohls about the problem and they were very rude.  I was told that's the way they set up their registries and if someone has a problem they should place a phone order or go to the store.  I found this so rude that I erased the registry 2 days ago.  So if you register there just beware because they don't tell you about this before hand.

We did Macy's and BB&B.  Both have great return policies as well as completion discounts.  Macy's also will give you a gift card for 5% of all money spent by guests on your registry as well as 10% on all charges you made on your Macy's card in the time you registered.  Macy's always has sales as well.  If something is full price, just wait a day and it will be on sale again.

Crate and Barrell and Macy's.  Crate and Barrell is great for all kicthen items and such and Macy's is just our "go to" spot... They have great perks for the couple and the couple's parents, as well.  It's helpful for guests too since they always run one day sales/have coupons to use.

Macy's and BBB and I was happy with both. Macy's even sends you a gift card after your wedding with a percentage of how much was spent on your registry (I think you need to have a Macy's card though). I got over $130 to spend now just because people bought me stuff...doesn't get better than that. A lot of people bought off my BBB registry, that store is great since they let you use expired coupons so you can save them all up and get a whole bunch of things 20% off. Their regular price is also Macy's sale price.....so if something isn't on sale at Macy's it's really not worth buying there.

I agree with HobokenBride, I had a such a horrible customer service experience registering at Kohl's that I completely deleted the registry an hour after I made it, just out of principle. The next day I went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and they were so wonderful. I was planning on doing Kohls and Bb&B as well but I found everything I needed and more at bb&b so there was no need for a second registry.

I'm doing Target and BB&B, even though a lot of the ladies on the registry and gifts board say that the Target registry website can be glitchy. It's the most convenient for me & my guests.

Macy's, Williams-Sonoma, Sears (for tools) and Chef Central. We wanted to register at a local store in addidion to the nationals (hence why we had four stores), but as we predicted, few people got us stuff from Chef Central. Williams-Sonoma's registry was glitchy. We got one item in triplicate. We were happy with Macy's, and we thought registering with them AND bbb would be redundant.

Oh, I also did Chef Central!  They just re-did their registry site and it's a LOT better than it was before.  I got all sorts of fun kitchen stuff from there.

Thanks for the heads up with Kohls... I had no idea they only shipped to the B&G's address!

I'm currently registered at BBB and Macy's and that'll probably be it

I am doing Macys only - which was great until this week when I checked my registry and saw that my china pattern was being discontinued. I didn't receive any notice via email and we're only a few weeks from the wedding.

I'm so sad to hear about the Kohl's registry being such a bust ... I've always enjoyed shopping there and it's convenient, so I'd planned on registering there. Guess it'll be Macy's instead ... we don't have a BB&B near us and the vast majority of the family is nowhere near tech-savvy enough to handle internet shopping.
