What are you gifting to your parents?

What are you ladies getting for your parents' gift? I'm wondering if an album will be the consensus. If you are getting an album, are you making it yourself (if you have the rights to the pictures) or are you buying it from your photographer? Trying to figure this out currently and ideas are appreciated :)

Re: What are you gifting to your parents?

  • We are giving them each an album that is in our photographer package. Nice leather bound album with over 20 pages. Our parents will be able to pick which pictures they want in their album. We are planning on getting them gifts that are close to them and what they would like. Havent made final decisions.

  • We're giving albums to both our parents from the photographer.  They are also leather bound.  Because my parents are paying for the wedding, we're also going to send them out to dinner to their favorite restaurant up on the beach in ME after the wedding.

  • FI and I are trying to decide if we want to pay to upgrade our photography package (which my parents are paying for) to the next level up and have it include two 8x10 leather bound albums for our parents. It's a significant difference in price (and obviously we would want to cover that difference in full ourselves), so I'm trying to figure out what we would get them if we didn't upgrade the photography package. It would probably still be an album and I would get it made on Photobook America or a similar company, but I just keep thinking that the album from the photographer will be so much nicer and we should go about it that way. When prices for albums are flying at me from every direction, it is really hard to figure out what is reasonable!

  • nothing. LOL. Maybe if they pay for something, i'll buy them something ;)
We are footing the entirety of our wedding and honeymoon on our own, as is.
I'm a stay at home mom, and P is about to be discharged from the military and put on wounded warrior disability. If I spent a dime on a gift for my parents, they would be majorly irritated.

</div><div>That's how I feel too.  We could have upgraded our package to get the paren'ts albums, but then we got a bunch of stuff we didn't want too.  So we're just going to pay ala carte for the parent albums, which ends up being cheaper.

  • I've started making my mom a scrapbook of all the wedding things we've done together but I haven't thought what else to get my parents or his parents.

Probably an album, but not sure yet.  Its not in our photographer package, but any photographer we go with we will have full picture rights, so I might make one myself.

I'm going to be giving my dad Harley Davidson cuff links and a hankie with a poem. As for the other parents, no idea.

I don't understand the whole gifting parents thing.

  •  yes , so good idea
  • I'm making albums for my mom, my dad, and his parents. My parents are divorced so I figured it had to be something similar that they could each have.
