Okay, I hate to threadjack, so here's a new one.
Odd requests from work:
The most recent (and maybe it's just weird to me) is the mothers wanting bridesmaid dresses. I mean, I get that Jim Hjelm looks great on you, but shouldn't you be going for our dubbed "Hot Mom" dress instead? I mean, really, you're not exactly a spring chicken.
The other day an older lady came in looking for a dress for a formal wedding. She made a beeline for our prom dresses. Her favorite? A backless low cut missing the dress beneath the boobs. She had to have been 40, size 14 and short. Yikes. We didn't have the dress in stock in her size, and the wedding is like 2 weeks from now. We need 3 months to get a dress.
We had a girl pass out during a fitting. She kept telling the seamstress to pull her dress tighter and tighter until she passed out. And then, when she came back for her second fitting, the dress was still too loose for her. I had a hard time zipping it up.
A lot of girls seem to not realize that two months before your wedding is not a good time to start looking for a dress. We need 4-6 months to order, and then at least a month for alterations, but we prefer a 2-3 month window. That way we can ensure that everything is done right and well.
I realize this is like the ONE day in your entire life you get to be beyond ridiculous, but so far, these bitches be crazy.
Re: Bizarre Dress Requests
Did it look like this?
'Cause I mean, atleast it's black. That makes it more formal than the same dress in hot pink right?!
But short...

Unfortunately for you it's the crazy ones that end up getting married/divorced 2 or 3 times in their lives, so I'm sure you'll be catching some repeat offenders!
[QUOTE]I literally did a spit take looking at that dress Peek, did she say she was going to a wedding or a brothel?!

<div>It's a new thing. We decided to try the prom dress line...and they didn't sell very well. So now we're stuck with them :(</div>
EDIT: I should probably make it clear that I'm not calling you a size 30, I'm just imagining that thought running through this woman's mind!
And I should probably re-read posts before I post them at 2am.
[QUOTE]Peek, <strong>I want to shadow you for a day on your job</strong>. I love watching BSC unfold. I was watching Amsale Girls last night as I was trying to fall asleep, and it made me think of you and your new job. Can you kind of laugh about things like this or does it super annoy you? Or is the job too new to be jaded quite yet? ;) How about this? When, someday, BF puts a ring on it, I'll come down to DC and try on dresses at your store. You'll still be working there in March 2012, right? (I think that is when Shoes said I was getting engaged, but I can't remember exactly!)

<div>Ditto to that one! </div>
[QUOTE]Gawwwwd. A 40 year old size 14 woman wanted to wear THAT? I wouldn't let my so far non-existant but probably hot and flat stomached teenaged daughter wear that to prom. And she wanted to wear it to a WEDDING? She was actually one of the mothers?! I am mortified for her child and FIL. And I am speechless. How did you not absolutely bust out laughing at her?! Seriously, I want to know! ETA: Why is that dress even MADE in anything above a size, like, 10? Come to think of it, I watched an episode of Drop Dead Diva the other day (new netflix obsession) with that same topic, a store that didn't sell anything above a certain size. But seriously, it comes in a size 30? What size 30 person would wear that?! O.O

Ew, ew, ew- that dress...ew...on an older lady....ew!
Oh...but I LOVE Drop Dead Diva!!! Is the new season on yet? Do you think it will also be online?
[QUOTE]:( I wish I worked in Tucson and had been able to do your dress for you lovely. You wouldn't have had a horrible scary story. I'd have made it pretty phenomenal. Seriously, I would love to be able to work one of you girls at some point. It would MAKE my life.

I'll keep this in mind if you're still doing this by the time it rolls around for me.... My dad lives in Philly, and they have sooo much better selection and options than my podunk town. :) I'd love to go back to that area to find my dress when the time comes...and DC isn't that far from Philly!
