Second dress?

I never wanted or planned on getting a second reception dress... I finally said yes to the perfect dress last week... It has a decent train on it and even though they can bustle it up.. I'm still thinking it's going to be hard to dance around in all night. My sister suggested getting a short cocktail dress and change into it for the last hour or so of my reception. I love to dance and know I'll be on the dance floor all night.. Thoughts?

Re: Second dress?

  • It's up to you but my personal feeling is you only get to be a bride one day in your life.  You spent so much time, money and energy searching for the perfect dress why would you want to change out of it?  I promise the day will fly by so quickly you woun't even notice how heavy your dress is.

  • I absolutely loved my dress and was so sad when I had to take it off at the end of the night b/c I knew I'd never be wearing it again.  I danced the entire night in it and it didn't bother me at all.  You can wear a short, white dress anytime- you only get to wear the white gown once.

  • i'm against the second dress idea.  you only get to be a bride once (hopefully) and you only get to wear that white gown once so why would you want to take it off!!  i was so sad that i had to take it off when i tried it on when we picked it up from the shop.  i can only imagine how sad i will be when i have to take it off after the wedding.

  • Just an additional opinion, I totally hate the idea of a second gown!
