Beer and Wine Vendors?

Has anyone brought in their own beer and wine to a venue in NC?  We live in Charlott but are getting married in Asheville and I am looking for a place to purchase about 24 cases of beer, about 70 bottles of wines and champagne, locally.  My matron of honor is in Raleigh so that's also an option.  I'm thinking shipping would be extremely expensive and the UPS man might kill me.  Like all of us, I'm looking to save a penny, but I've got plenty of time to figure this piece to the puzzle out!  Any ideas/sugestions are welcome!

Total Wine is a good place to check. They have a few Raleigh and Charlotte locations. The great thing about them is that they let you return anything that is unopened. And I think they give a discount when you buy multiple bottles of wine (I think it's 6 bottles?).

With enough notice you should be able to get all that from a Total Wine store. They'll order cases for you.

I agree - Total Wine is a great place to start. We live in Raleigh but will be getting married in Kure Beach. We plan to order all of our beer & wine through Total Wine and drive it to the beach for our reception.

I currently live in Asheville, but we are getting married in Mooresville. If you have the chance, try the local breweries here! They sell beer by the kegs, but its so good that we are going to bring it to our venue to add some "local flair" :)

Check out Frugal McDougal on 77 near Carowinds.  Good prices and great selection and they will allow you to return unopened bottles in exchange for something else!  Best wine prices too especially if you're going with a middle of the road brand i.e. Barefoot, Gallo, Yellowtail...etc...

We got kegs of beer from a local brewery for our beer.  That's going to be your best bet for beer in bulk I think, as long as your venue will allow kegs.
