Cost of Wedding????

Hello Friends- I know this might be T.M.I. for some people to give but I really need info to bring to my fiance as he just doesn't think people spend what a wedding costs today. For those of you who feel comfortable can you let me know an estimate of your wedding ceremony w/ receoption and for how many guests?  I know the total can range depending on what you get but any help is appreciated!!!!!  Thank you again.

    ours ended up being right around $28K for 180 people. it all depends on the # of people and the venue- those are the 2 biggest factors (i think). everything else you can find deals or DIY (for the most part).

    We were blessed that we had family and friends who wanted to help with the wedding.  Ours came out to 7k for 200 people.  We had lobster, chicken, sushi, etc.  We had a family friend's buddy bar tend for us.  If you ask around you never know who might know someone.  That is how you can keep costs low.  Our photographer had this deal where you pay half see the pictures and you liked it, you pay the other half.  That helped out a great deal.  Let me know if you need help.  Laughing

    Mine was about $17K for 80 people but this was also in North Florida and not LA.  It also included the airfare for both me and DH.  I'm sure we could have saved in some areas but I wasn't willing to search around and we also had an expensive photographer.

    I'm going to hit somewhere around $35K for my 170 people with no DIY whatsoever.

    we are at about 25K including most tips, we may go just over that. our guest list is at 160 and we are doing a moderate amount of DIY. we probably could do without the photobooth, but we want it!

    We budgeted around $17.5K for a 90-110 guests(we're still waiting for our final count);  we have revised that to $18.5K.  We have given ourselves a cusion of around $2K in case something comes up.

    It would be cheaper if we had gone for an afternoon wedding.  We're keeping our costs down by not hiring transportation(FI has a nice big car); our photographers are giving us the digital images(since I do graphic design); and I am DIYing our flowers.
    We also found it was cheaper to get married in a church(where your officiant is already salaried) than it is to use an officiant that is for weddings only.

    We are probably around $15,000 for 70 people. We only splurged on photography.

    Our wedding was a little over 25K for 130 guests.  Not many DIY projects involved. HTH!

    Our initial budget was 10K. We are so thankful to have a wonderful mothers who are helping a great deal, We also have had a few family members offer here & there with certain things (favors, DJ,photographer,stamps for invites) I mean the smallest things but it allows us to put it elsewhere in the budget.

    So far we have stuck to the budget, ONLY cux of the help! So far if my calculations are right it will be much less than the 10K out of our pocket.

    Oh our guest count is 75!

    Ours will probably be about 23K for about 170 guests.  Our parents are have offered to split the big stuff food, church, etc. FI and I are paying for some things like the DJ and transportation. Practically no DIY stuff and I really splurged on the photographer so it increased my budget a little. GL convincing the FI!

    Like Jagore, mine is about $17-&18k for around 75-80 people. Originally it was $15k, but we splurged on a few things (transportation, photography, accessories, full bar). I'm also cutting down in some areas by not doing favors, not doing premium liquor (only well drinks/house liquor), etc. This does not include honeymoon and may not include rings, either.

    Most wedding officiants I've found are only a few hundred dollars - so about the same as a church donation.

    I guess it depends on the venue and how creative you are.  I am not creative at all so no DIY for me.
    We're lucky to have parents/sibs and future in-laws that are going to help us.  We are expecting 40-50K for 200-250 guests.

    YOU GIRLS ARE AWESOME!!!!  I already feel better getting a "feel" for total costs, etc.  I know it varies but I was just worried we were way off.  Thanks again!!!!!
