Flower Girl Dress - Questions (PIP heavy)

Anybody have any good places to look for dresses for flower girls? Preferably that I can see online? Im trying to stay away from typical bridal chain stores. I love one from J.Crew but I could never ask my MOH to pay $350 for two dresses for her girls. I like different designs that dont look too flower girlish. I just cant seem to find anything I LOVE.

Also, what the heck color do I put them in? Im wearing champagne, bridesmaids are in blush, guys are in gray. Can I put them in ivory? The guys are wearing ivory shirts but will that look funny next to me since Im in champagne. Our wedding colors are cream, blush, gray/silver.

This is my dress:

This is BM dresses, except theyre the blush color pictured below:

J.Crew Dress that I love

Other ones that maybe options...

Who knew flowergirl dresses could be this time consuming!!!

  • light in the box . com have affordable dresses ,this is wear Im ordering my lil ones dress from
  • I'm in the same position as you...I don't want the dress to look like a flower girl dress and I don't want her in white either.  Have you tried etsy?  There are people on there who will make one and you can customize everything.  I'm looking at a tutu dress but I'd be making a few minor changes to it.  The owner, Trish, sent me a swatch to see if it would match the shade of purple that my MOH's are wearing.  The name of the shop is tallulahandbelle.
  • check out etsy - there are lots of unique flower girl dresses there :)
(and i love that dress by j crew too!)

Thanks, I will take a look at that shop. The last two flower girl dresses I posted are actually from etsy. I havent had any luck with my online search so thats when I ventured over to etsy. I figure that may be my best bet because I cant seem to find anything else!

  • I'm getting my reception dress from Light in the Box, I heard GREAT things about it from a friend whose mother apparently gets dresses from there all the time lol
  • Another good idea is check your local store for first communion dresses, they should be coming out soon I know JC Penny has them out already they are a lot cheaper then the typical flower girl dresses at a bridal store and you could totally get away with them being flower girl dresses!
  • Btw I love your dress! I have checked out etsy too and havent found a lot. I second light in the box. They have cute dresses at affordable prices and are good from what I hear. As far as color, I think it depends on what you want. I don't want my FG in white or ivory because I will be wearing pink. I'd rather her be in brown, like the maids, or pink like me.
  • Wait for Easter. You might see some cute dresses then.
And I'd go with any color you want.  I don't think they need to necessarily match any particular person/s.

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.

JC Penney actually has a line of flower girl dresses that are very reasonably priced and cute. Their communion dresses work well too, that is what my goddaughter did last summer for the wedding she was in.

I was going to suggest this.  My friend purchased her flower girl's dress from Burlington Coat Factory for her wedding a couple of years ago.  I think she got the dress for less than $30 too.  I'm not sure if they have a website though.
