Photo Booths

One thing I have been begging for is a Photo Booth for my reception. I received a quote that is definitely within my price range. I'm a little nervous because it seems too cheap!! Anybody ever heard of or used the company called Photosmirk? There website looks good. Looks like they've been at a few big name events too. Just wondering! I want everything to go perfect!

I haven't. I'm like you with the photobooth thing! I wanted one SO badly all along but knew we couldn't afford it. I just couldn't get over it though, so finally a week or so ago we booked one :) We're using Photobooth Memories and thought I've just spoken with them on the phone, they seem really great and reasonable to work with.

I have not heard anything about them either.  But we decided to go with Photobooth a Go Go. Saw them at the wedding fair in January...the prints printed super fast and they had the best price I could find!  They don't have the most attractive booths but they were affordable and printed quality pics!

do you guys think it's worth it to bring a prop box?  a now-married msp knottie mentioned buying props at the Dollar Tree instead of buying the PB Co's props... I hadn't even considered this.  I think the PB would be nice enough, and I don't want to bother with props...

I have heard of them, but only because of their ads on craigslist. If you decide to go with them, please let me know how it goes! :) Thanks!

Absolutely do a prop kit but  you can usually save a bunch by getting it yourself.  We hit up Joann Crafts for boas and stuff like that, the dollar bin at Target, Party City, Dollar Tree, etc.  The sillier the better!  We gave our prop kit leftovers (some of it will find new homes with your guests!) to another bride who is getting married this summer so we're sharing the prop kit love.

We're doing the Traveling Photo Booth.

You might want to check what hkiesling did -- they did a kind of DIY photo wall.

So what kind of props are you all using?? I thought about it, but I'd have no idea what to buy. Feather boas, silly hats?

We had all of the characters for the village people (by accident actually!) by hats only, shell "bras" and grass skirts, a plastic bowler style hat, boas, silly glasses, those foam type hats that you sometimes find at the zoo that are of animals (I think that was a party store find), tiaras, bandanas, garden style hats, a straw cowboy hat, etc.  It was a great way to get rid of old halloween costume pieces.

p.s. LOVE the Traveling Photobooth!  Are you getting the memory book?  That is one of my favorite mementos of the day.  The photos and messages our guests left were hillarious (and got moreso towards the end of the night.  *grin*)

Ohhhh good ideas! Haha the foam hats sound fun :)

We're actually making our own book -- we bought a nice one from Paper Source. But yes, we're having everyone write their messages in there :)  We also bought clear bookmark sleeves, so people can put their photostrips in those to protect them and use them as a bookmark or whatever :) Oh, and we ordered the CD with all the photos on them -- it'll be so fun to look at them later on!

We made our own photo wall and just set up a digital camera for people to take pictures with (or they could use there own if they wanted).  The pictures were all uploaded to our weddig website so people could download them if they wanted after the wedding.  I have info on how I made it in my bio under DIY and Non-Pro Pictures.

We also are going with Photobooth A Go Go. I haven't seen their booths but their price was the best one I could find. I don't know if that's much help, but he's worth looking into.

Thank You everyone for their input!! I have decided to go with PhotoSmirk. I havent received any quotes from anybody else and he has props, unlimited photos and the cd included in the price. They also put your engagement photo and a note with your name and stuff. I do love the idea with the coconut bra and stuff. Its luau themed so I may have to get creative in addition to what he has!!

The guy was really nice and helpful today!! So if your still looking I'd definitely try it out. The price was excellent!!  $600 for 4 hours. Its right on their website!!

That is a really good price!  I am sure it will be great!  Isn't it so hard trusting vendors....I am driving my FI nuts because of how paranoid I am!! :)  I know most people are good and honest but still....it's a lot of money and a big event!
