  there is a Davids Bridal on Kirkwood HWY. most of their dresses are under $1k

  I purchased my dress at Irini's Originals in Wilmington. I got mine on sale for $800 (it was 1/2 off) I didn't see any dress there over $2000.

  I bought my dress at Fantasia on 202.  Some people don't like their shop but I had absolutely no problems with them.  I bought my Casablanca dress there for $750.

  I bought my dress at the Bridal & Tuxedo shop on Kirkwood Highway. I thought the young girl (can't remember her name!) was awesome. The rest of the family can come across as kind of brash, (i.e.- hectic italian family style) but they were so helpful and so friendly. I found my dress on the clearance rack, and they were awesome with knocking down prices and splitting payments and everything.

  I am a Philly gal too...but Priscilla's of Boston is fabulous.  Have you tried there?

  Pricilla of Boston tends to have high end gowns, and very rarely do they fit into the $1k or less budget.  Trust me, I looked- my mom had a POB, and I wanted one as well because of that.
