Parasols on beach?

Happy Saturday!

So, I was just reading the previous post about the heat and humidity in Hawaii.  We are getting married on the beach (Waimanalo) 4:30 p.m., May 27th.  I was considering parasols for the guests, but I am concerned about the wind on the beach.  Any thoughts?  Also, where to buy parasols on Oahu or cheap shipping vendors?

Thanks for your feedback!

Are you on the islands? I love the products that Luna Bazaar have, but if you don't want to do surface mail with them (it's super expensive otherwise), they recommended The Paper Lantern store to me, which is what we went with! We could afford to do parasols for our guests, so we did fans instead, which were incredibly useful and very popular.

I am not on Oahu.  I was hoping to have a couple of sources on island instead of paying for shipping.

Oh, I thought you said either in your OP!

I guess I did :)  Sorry.  I was really hoping to find somewhere to purchase on island, as shipping all the items there is getting so expensive.  Thanks for giving me some tips--much appreciated!

No worries, FWIW, the shipping fees with the second company were super reasonable (like 10$ or something like that).

If you want plain white parasols I've seen them at 12 for $30 at oriental trading. And you can often find free shipping codes online but I'm not sure if Hawaii is included. I've purchased items from them for organization events before so quality is pretty decent. But I haven't seen the quality of their parasols.

We got married on the beach, and our ceremony was about 15 mins.  I found that the breeze on the water kept ppl really cool, and it was enough to hand out chilled water bottles after the ceremony (during pics).

I chose not to use parasols in the ceremony (our BMs had bouquets), because of the unpredictability of the wind.  However, we used parasols during some of our photos, and they stood up just fine to the wind.
