Overwhelmed by Honeymoon Options!

Holy jeebus there are a lot of honeymoon places out there!

Can someone please help me narrow it down?

We want to find a place that's beachy, all-inclusive, adults/couples only (I work with kids. I want NO children around!) with good rooms, lots of restaraunts/activities/pools and maybe opportunities to get off the resort and explore. We don't want to go to Mexico, Jamaica or Aruba (we've already been there).

Can anyone help?

    What is your budget?
  • Well we're going to get help from the family so I'm going to guesstimate maybe $3000? I feel like that's pretty doable.

What about an AI in the Dominican or Costa Rica?
  • Iberostar Grand Bavaro in P*nta Cana, DR
  • Your budget would be perfect if you were willing to go to Mexico or Jamaica. Other places it might be a bit tight. I would try to go through a website that gives pricing and see what you can come up with. The one we used was All Inclusive Outlet which was at AllInclusiveOutlet.com . We did all the research on there and narrowed it down to resorts with ammenities we wanted and then booked it through a local travel agent. You could just skip that step and go directly to a Travel Agent though. (I specifically like that website because I was able to get pricing on airfare from my direct city, Omaha is expensive to fly out of so it made it much easier to estimate prices)

I think some of the other locations that were posted on here are good though. Costa Rica is supposed to be gorgeous. And might find something within your budget.

  • We've stayed at both Secrets and Sandals and have enjoyed both.  Overall I'd say Secrets resorts are nicer but Sandals are in nicer locations.  We have a really great travel agent (out of DC but works online) that has always helped us find the right destination and resort for our budget.   She is really knowledgeable and easy to work with. If you'd like her info, just PM me.  There are definitely times we aren't looking for much to do outside of the resort and times we want a lot of activities- so picking a destination first and then a resort from there has always helped us.  Hope that insight helps!

  • Mexico and Jamaica and DR are the best options for all inclusive for adults, so that leaves Dominican Republic. We're doing an AI, but there are a lot of places to go besides that. You could do a smaller hotel that has a city around. Googling adult only places brings up most of them, but it does limit your options and it does not mean couples only like at Sandals or Couples. There could still be singles there if thats ok.

Best advice get a travel agent that specializes in carribean or tropical honeymoons. It makes things so easy and some are free, like AAA.
