Wedding Shower Registry too many items?

I have been to a lot of showers where there weren't enough items to choose from, but looking my registry compared to some others I feel like I may have too much. I also didn't register for some of the normal items like bathroom accessories, towels, sheets, bedding, vacuum cleaners, oven mits, kitchen towels, iron, and the basic kitchen utensils because frankly we already have those and we purchase new ones regularly. I have 140 items at my bed bath and beyond registry and about 50-60 items at my macy's registry.

Re: Wedding Shower Registry too many items?

  • I dont think you can have "too many." I have also been shopping for a wedding or shower and the registry feels really picked over.... so by having a lot, you are REALLY helping your guests out by giving them options! I think its great!!

  • We have about 400 items total. A lot are duplicates because there is a Kohl's in the town we're getting married in and BBB is 40 minutes away. We have the same big appliances on each but brands of gadgets and things like that are different

This.  Plus it doesn't hurt to have extras so you can get things you want with the  complete the registry discounts many stores offer.

  • You're fine! I agree with Chelsea. They have more to pick from if they're some of the last to get anything. We have over 400 items combined on all of our registries. By no means do we expect to get everything.

I think you are fine!  I need more on my registry.  We are combining two houses so there's not too much we need.  I have registries at Macy's, Target, Wal-Mart and Kohl's so there some each place.  We still need to go to Wal-Mart and register for the smaller things.  We have 29 things on the Wal-mart registry, 32 on Target's, about 10 on Kohl's and the Chirp plates and accesories I love on Macy's.  I've read somewhere that you should have twice as many items on your registry as you have guests so they have options.  In that case, yours is the right amount, but I need to add a lot more!
  • Agree with PP - you really can't have too much on there. A good friend of mine has a very small registry and I was so frustrated trying to find a gift for her shower because there wasn't much to choose from, so I say thumbs up for you!
  • we have 180 items, from a variety of price points.

  • We have 130 items on our registry.
  • On Macy's registry page it says to have 2x the number of guests.  However, we don't have that but our registries arent skimpy by any means.  My cousin is getting married in April and she has about 30 items on her Target registry and registered at Sandals.  She was very difficult to shop for because I refused to buy her anything on her Sandals registry.

  • You are fine! We have over 500 items between 3 regustries. Many are doubles
