Please keep all these families in your thought in prayers. So far the update is at least 27 dead, 18 are children. I can't believe this happened.

    I'm sick to my stomach. 

    I've cried off and on while watching the news at work. Some of my (male) coworkers had to leave the desk to pull themselves together. 

    This is heartbreaking.

    I shut down facebook and turned off the news. I can't hear anymore or I will be crying. How far do you have to go to want to kill children???

    Abosolutely heartbreaking. I couldnt even imagine what would bring someone to do that or what those familes could be going through.

    Being a teacher in Ct, fairly close to this school I am completely distraught. I cant believe a person can talk the lives of so many people. My heart breaks for the families, the town of Newtown, and all the schools around CT. It was extremely hard being a teacher today. :

    There have been 2 shootings at the same high school here in mn. It's a horrible thing to have happen. Sadly i also wonder what it's gonna take to make everyone, not just politicians do something about it.

    I am in disbelief over this. My heart thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected. It makes me scared for all children... To bring them into a world like this. So, so sad and heartbreaking. :

    so the latest update I've heard is that the shooter fatally shot his mother (a substitute teacher) in the face at home and then went to the school, shot at the principal and others in the main office, and then went into a kindergarten classroom and opened fire... His brother is stating that the shooter had mental issues for years... but they're still unsure if there was any kind of motive or reason behind this...
    so proud of the teachers that acted quickly upon hearing the shots and commotion... they acted quickly to protect as many kids as they could, trying to keep them calm and safe... as horrific as this is, it could have been even worse if those teachers hadn't kept a level head...
    there are many more angels looking down upon us today... thoughts and prayers to everyone impacted, directly or indirectly...
