Hello ladies! My intro :)

So I wanted to come on here and introduce myself. I have been reading a bunch of posts and am pleasantly surprised to see that the convos on here are more than just wedding talk. Y'all seem like a great support for military s/o's! Well my FI is in the Texas NG while he goes to school at Texas A&M. I live in Kentucky. We have been dating long distance for about 4 of the 5 years we've been together if you count basic training. He graduates in May and commissions and than goes AD. We get married a week after that. So that's our story, just thought I'd share because I'd love to join the group :). We find out where he'll be stationed this spring and all that jazz so I will definitely be looking for advice/support, because we may be going overseas, which will be a HUGE adjustment and kind of scary thing for me. Looking forward to talking to you ladies more! Have a great Thursday!

    Well I turned 26 last Saturday :) I graduated from Indiana University in 2010 and got a job at a financial firm soon after, but hated it! So I started a new job in August doing what I do best, taking care of kiddos! Yep I'm a college graduate working as a full time nanny :) but I feel like it beats sitting behind a computer all day and the pay is great! I'll work till end of April and than go wherever he goes. Thinking about going to get Masters in Ed to teach while hubby is in army. If I've heard correctly the army will pay for it? Besides working I try to keep busy with friends and family and church/bible study and of course wedding planning. It's going to be such a big life change after I get married, because FI and I have never really lived in the same city and I still live with my parents, but I know it's going to be AMAZING to finally have a life of our own! As far as wedding, I almost have everything booked and getting really excited! The date is May 19 and Time has gone by fast. Starting to stress a little about all the details and worrying that something will go wrong. We are having reception at a historic hotel in downtown Louisville. Our colors are navy, yellow, and gray. Girls wearing navy and guys gray tuxs. Just booked our honeymoon to Jamaica! It's all starting to sink in that it's real and it's coming fast. It kind of seems surreal, because we've been apart for so long, I never thought the time would come. I'll post pics of dress soon! So glad to hear from y'all! Shan- what does your hubby fly and where are y'all stationed? My dad was a fighter pilot for 22 years in AF. My favorite base was Eglin/ Ft Walton beach. P.s. FI found out few weeks ago his branch will be armor so we will be at Ft Benning for BOLC for about 5 months. Anyone been there?

    Hi! I already have a nickname for you, Mandylu. I hope it sticks (unless you hate it.) BTW, I'm the resident weirdo around these parts, so don't mind my randomness ;)

    I think you sound like a pretty cool person! What's got you stressing out about the wedding? Remember, all that matters is you marrying your man. You will hear that a lot from us when it comes down to talking about stress. The ladies here really know how to talk you down from a breakdown :)

    Got any pets? Favorite movie? Got a wedding theme? I'm feelin' chatty today.

    hey and welcome :) Glad you decided to post, and hope you stick around.

    We are date twins!!! yay!!!

    Marriage is also the first time that FI and I will have lived in the same place. We are both taking a longer bit of time off for our HM because we're not sure when I'll be able to move to jax to be with him, and that's the longest period of consecutive time we'll spend together. hah!

    hope your planning finishes out ok,  I feel like there are a TON of details yet to be worked out.

    I agree, you seem pretty normal hopefully you stick around :)  And you have a date twin - Fire is getting married May 19th too!!

    Fort Walton beach is beautiful! Congratulations on everything and it sounds like your wedding is going to be gorgeous, I love the color combination!

    Haha love the nickname! My dad calls me mandalu :) I jus stress about things easily in general, so I'm afraid that I'll forget to do something for wedding, I guess it's normal for a lot of brides to get stressed about the little details. My biggest stress is I'm worried I will not enjoy the day, I know it sounds weird but with all the hype and planning leading up to the day, when the actual day comes I fear I won't be able to shut off the worry of something going wrong and just relax and enjoy the day. No pets anymore, although that will be one of our first purchases after the wedding:) I want a westie and papillon, he wants a big dog. We'll see.... Don't really have a theme, but I want to incorporate the whole long distance thing somehow, maybe with planes or something. I dunno, got any ideas? I want to know everyone else's story! Married? If so when? Engaged? When's the date? Wheres everyone from? Do you live far from family/hometown?
