Outdoor wedding venue??

Hi! I am trying to help a friend of mine find a place to have an outdoor ceremony and reception on a budget- we are in the western suburbs of Philly. Any suggestions appreciated!!! :)

I had mine outside at The Radnor Hotel. They have a really pretty bricked outdoor garden. They have a ballroom also.

You can use the outdoor area at Ridley Creek State Park, you might want to find out if it's ok to put up a tent though.  I know there's a park in Aldan w/a gazebo, not sure what the requirements are for using it though, you may need to live in the town.  Either of these you could control your budget by choosing your catering carefully.  Depending on how large the wedding is, you might be able to find a historical society with a great house.  Not sure what the rules are in Fairmont Park, I know some of the historical homes there can be rented, prices vary, and since you'd want to use their outdoors it might be less.

I'm having my ceremony in one of gardens at Ridley Creek State Park, then reception in the mansion ballroom. They're charging 3k. But I heard for 2012 weddings it's going up to 4k.

You can get married at Ridley tho without renting the mansion, and do a picnic/outodoor reception, not sure if that's what you want but it's easy on the budget comparatively. Good Luck!  If you're going that route be sure to ck out the bathrooms... you might want to consider renting upscale porta potties.
