He just went into heart surgery. He was born with a generic heart murmur and back in the 50s there was nothing they could do..and they didn't think it was a problem. 60ish years later and after my Aunt and Great Aunt (who both had the same problem) both had mild complications from it.
My dad is having a semi-preventative surgery to fix it. They think they caught it in time that they don't have to replace the valve but just repaire it. But nevertheless, heart surgery is still a huge deal.
also, T&Ps for a speedy recovery...I would really like to be able to dance with my dad at the wedding.
