Who to hire as a wedding officiant

One of the last thing that I need to do it find an officiant for our wedding that is 2 months away. I know I don't have that much time, but I can't figure out who to go with. We are not religious at all, we just want someone that in nice and not too costly. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help

In Colorado, you don't have to have an officiant. Only you and your FI are required to sign the marriage license, so you could have a close friend "perform" the wedding and then the two of you just sign the marriage license. Or you could have a close friend get ordained online :) That is the option we are going with since we come from different religious backgrounds and we didn't want someone who didn't know us perform our wedding. Just an idea.

My best friend's brother got ordained to do her wedding in 2007 and he is renewing his ordainment so that he can perform our wedding next month.  If you have a friend who is willing, they can get ordained for I think $40, or you can have someone perform the cermony and only you and your FH sign the marriage license (as mentioned above by hillarl).  You can also call the courthouse and ask for the judges who perform weddings, you may be able to get in touch with one of them and see if they would be willing to do the ceremony for a donation or fee of $50-$150.

We are going with an officiant from  Lyssabeth's http://www.memorableceremonies.com/

They have been really easy to work with and can do all kinds of ceremonies.

    Good luck!

I was playing around online and came across this the other day. We're using the pastor of our church, so I don't know anything about these people, but I thought it might help. Good luck!!

Thanks for all of the great info!  My fiance's dad is actually ordained, but he didn't want him to do it cause he figured that he would try to make the ceremony very religious, which is not what we were looking for.  We did not have any other friends of family that we felt comfortable doing the ceremony so I may just have to cough up the cash.
