Two Ovens

Does anybody else feel like they absolutely NEED two ovens during the holidays?
During any other time of the year I am fine with my oven, I love it.  Then November rolls around and I get sort of mad at it, only holding two things at a time.

Then by December I am resentful.  My oven is no longer satisfying my needs.  I want another.

Then in the middle of January I love it again.

Does anybody else feel like this?  Or, even better, does anyone have two ovens, and is it worth it?

Re: Two Ovens

  • Yes!!! We are throwing a party tonight and I spent 4 hours cooking last night and am about to gear up for 5 straight hours of cooking and I could knock off a solid hour if I had another oven. I  cook a LOT though, and I always need another oven.
One day when we're not at the mercy of a landlord....
  • My mom has two ovens, and they are a godsend for holidays and parties. I've been spoiled by it, and now I scream at my tiny oven I have with H. My poor unappreciated oven.
  • I do a ton of baking for holidays, and some catering on the side.  Right now I have everything I need for tonight laid out on parchment paper on the counters and in the fridge, so when something comes out I can slide the stuff off the sheet pan, then put the new items in immediately.  Everything is prepped, but I have another 4 hours of just baking things.
  • I would have loved a second oven for Thanksgiving.  Someday, someday.
  • I greatly envy my mom's double oven--seems like nobody these days has a double oven, and it will be a long time until I get one.  But between a turkey, rolls, pies, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, green beans, etc. its always a battle to get it all cooked!
