Recommend Your Bridal Salon

I will be starting my dress shopping this September and wanted to get feedback on the salons in the DMV area.

Name of Salon?
How was the selection (styles and sizes)?
How was the pricing?
How was the staff?
Do they offer alterations?

How was your appointment?  Were you limited to the amount of dresses you could try on?  Did you get to take pictures during your appointment?

Lots of questions I know but your replies are appreciated.  Thanks!

Hey there! I have been to 2 salons in the area and have had great experiences...I think I've found THE dress at White Swan in Vienna but I'm still a long way from the wedding date so I'm holding off. See below for the answers to your questions!
    White Swan, Vienna
Selection was extensive and wonderful (Rosa Clara was my favorite designer they had) the first floor has all the dresses on mannequins (probably 75-100) and the second floor has over 100 on racks. The first floor pricing is for "this seasons" gowns and ranges from $1000-3000. The second floor "last season" gowns are all $500. Alterations are free with first floor and they do them for an extra fee for second floor.

The staff was great for my taste...you put post-its on the gowns you want to try. They just bring them to the dressing room for you- no limits. They weren't opinionated which I like (that's why I brought a friend). You can't take photos of the gowns.

I also tried Chevy Chase bridal. Definitely smaller selection but more high end- gowns started at $2000 (although I tried 1 that was $1250). Most are more tho (Simone Carvalli, etc). Staff was helpful- there was no limit (however they weren't busy when I was there and it was during a trunk show- so I was encouraged to try as many as I wanted). They do alterations also and you can take photos of yourself in the gowns.

Hope this helps and good luck!

I did not go bridal gown shopping here, but got my bridesmaid dresses through Hitched in Georgetown. We had AMAZING customer service and actually worked with the owner at some points on a remeasure for one of my gals. They carry amazing dresses and are the best around in working with people. Put them on your list of places to hit!

    Hello
I would recommend two salons in the area:

In ROckville, MD=Bridal Images on Rockville Pike.  Great selection and very knowledgeable staff members=.
Rooms were spacious and private, also the prices were affordable for designer gowns (not copies)= everyone had a great time here.

In Virginia, try Priscilla of Boston in Tyson, they have also an extensive collection.
If you make an appointment, you should receive lots of help from the staff.
Remember to make appointments( where ever you go) and be Honest about how much dress you can afford.  Oh, and have a blast too.

I hated Bridal Images. When I was unsure about the dresses, they brought in another saleswoman to try to convince me to buy it while I was still unsure. She was a closer and I didn't like the preasure.

Name of Salon? I Do I Do Bridal in Gaithersburg
How was the selection (styles and sizes)? Tons of styles--new and consignment and every size on the planet...all other bridal salons looked treated me odd/horrible because I was a size 12-14.
How was the pricing? I ended up paying 600
How was the staff? They were fun, laid-back and very nonchalant. Loved 'em
    Do they offer alterations? Yest

How was your appointment?  Fun and laid back---so different than all the other places which were stuffy and rude Were you limited to the amount of dresses you could try on?  Nope Did you get to take pictures during your appointment? Only after you purchased the dress

I loved and loved Bridal Images.  They were recommended by a friend that bought hers there. As I said, the staff was patient and the selection very very good.

I also recommend Priscilla of Boston in TYsons, VA.  Top quaity garments/construction.  Profesional staff too.

Both places have designer gowns and NOT used or consignment dresses (as does IDo IDO salon); so be upfront with your budget to your sales person.

     Most important, have fun!!
