I STILL can't update my signature!
So, we have 66 RSVPs "YES," 31 "NO," and 69 (I think) still floating around unreturned. RSVP date is Saturday. I hope people send them back!
We could still have 135 guests. It seems like such a big crowd. I guess this is what all those theater and speech classes were for. Not giving presentations in a room of 20 people. Nope. Those classes were to prepare me to say my wedding vows in front of 135 people.
*deep breath*
We knew if we didn't go to the courthouse we'd end up with a big wedding. This isn't a surprise. It's just.... a big number. To me. I'm sure other brides would love to have 300 guests. Josh and I would have been thrilled with 30.
Anyway, so... some things I've noticed:
90% of these RSVPs come back with no return address. I have two with no name written in the blank. Number your RSVPs (on the back, in the corner, in little tiny print) and have a numbered, master guest list to check them against.
Putting a line that says "Number of guests attending" doesn't help you get an accurate head count. Does the "2" mean it's just the couple... or does the "2" mean the couple is bringing their two kids? Our best man checked "accepts" (obviously) and wrote in "0" for number of guests attending. We had a good laugh about that. Oh, well. I tried.
I just received a gift from a person I've never heard of, who FI has never heard of, with no return address. FI is going to check with his mom to see if she knows the person. But honestly, the craziest things happen with wedding stuff! I want to say "Thank you so much for the gift" but I don't know where to send the gratitude! lol
The local guests who got their invitations last week have now sent back more RSVPs than the out of town guests who got theirs last month. They're making travel arrangements and booking flights and hotels. I mean, I guess if they buy a plane ticket, I can assume they mean "yes," huh?
Oh, family!
