Gifts for each other on wedding day?

Hi all...my fiance and I have been toying with the idea of getting each other gifts on the wedding day. Just a little something that we could give to our best man/maid of honor to give us as we're getting ready. I love this idea...I'm just having one problem. What do I get him?!? I want it to be something small, meaningful (to him, not just me..).

Any suggestions? Thanks, guys!

Re: Gifts for each other on wedding day?

  • Think of something small, something you both love to share. I'm not sure how others do it, but for my fiance I got matching coffee mugs for the two of us. His says "Good morning Handsome" and mine says "Good morning Beautiful." We love to spend our weekend mornings drinking coffee and reading or just chatting, and "Good morning Beautiful" is a special song for us. When I stumbled upon the mugs, they just seemed perfect!

I'd say start thinking of things that you two love to share with each other, and be open minded! I'm sure you'll just find something that will make perfect sense. Happy to make more suggestions, too! What do you love to do together?

  • We decided to do gifts, but we each picked out what we wanted and bought them ahead of time. I bought him a new pair of Nike tennis-shoes that he really wanted, which he'll actually get a few days before the wedding. And he bought me a massage for the morning of the wedding - sweet!

We'll also be writing private notes to each other the day of (or at least I will - I still have to get him on board with that, lol)

I was toying with the idea of getting his wedding band engraved with our wedding date and "always and forever" (which is our song), as a surprise on the wedding day.  Any thoughts about that?

I love the idea of getting each other something on the day of, so the engraving is what I've come up with.  Love the mugs! <3

  • Aww thanks laurenoliveira and melb! I just stumbled across them on Pinterest and had to have them! I hope he'll love them!

Wedding band engraving is definitely a great surprise. And that would be something he will have forever!

VeggieLove, that is an awesome idea! Sneaky! I bet he loved it.

I gave my husband a love letter, which I wrote over several months.  He did not know about it in advance though.
  • We didn't plan on gifts, because we figured the rings and the rest of our lives was enough.  However, unbeknownst to him, I wrote him a love letter and unbeknownst to me, he wrote me a song and put it on a CD.

    Yeah, I know...he wins:-P

<div>I LOVE this! So thoughtful. Sounds like you two have a beautiful relationship.</div>
  • We haven't talked about it but I've told him I'd oing boudoir photos for him.  He doesn't want them until after our honeymoon though, which is fine with me.  I don't know if that would be considered a wedding gift for him...and i don't know if he is getting me anything!
  • My FI is HUGE into soccer and collecting soccer scarfs from teams all over the country so I created my own pattern and knit him a soccer scarf with our names and the date :) very personalized yet inexpensive and now he does not have an excuse to forget our wedding date ;-) It is also something he can hang and display next to all of this other scarfs! I don't think gifts need to be large, something more meaningful is so much better, IMO!
