i HATE workplace charity campaigns.
my company (even prior to the sale a year and a half ago) has always been really into the whole UW yearly campaign. Director-level managers roped me into being a department rep for the drive each of the last 3 years. (I agreed because it was a good networking opportunity, and to make the bigwigs happy...) Last year was especially bad, as a ton of people were slated to be laid off 9/30 - right after the UW drive was completed. I hate soliciting people for donations to a particular charity because i feel like this is a personal choice for people to make.
I'm very happy that my new bosses don't know about my campaign participation the last 3 years, so I haven't gotten roped into helping this year.
