So I posted last month asking how to make my wonderful BF realize that Im perfectly content not having something big and fancy for an engagement. We have a baby to support and that is our priority.
Some of you ladies suggested it was his past relationship that may have been delaying him and I figured you were right so I stopped talking about weddings and stuff around him (which is kind of complicating considering I make wedding cakes for a living)
I came home the other night to find him looking at engagement rings. Instead of closing the page or anything he has me sit down and look at rings I would like. He knows that with the arthritis in my fingers as well as my raynauds syndrome I have problems wearing stones that are too big so he said he wanted to see how big of a ring I could wear.
I told him I really didnt want to pick my exact ring and he said that was fine but Im excited....things might be changing soon

YAY!
Re: Its comingggg :)
Now if I could only learn to keep my own mouth shut :P
We looked at rings in June. I probably won't get engaged until July this year. Some girls have their BFs buy rings that sit around for months (or even years) until they propose.

</div><div>Well, that's good news! Yay! If you're planning on sticking around, you should post an intro thread. (I don't think anyone really reads the "Introduce Yourself Here" thread anymore...?) Anyway, hi and belated welcome.</div>

..Sorry I had to.
Minor thread hijack: I just found out I have raynaud's this past summer as well. From what I've learned, mine appears to be very minor compared to what some people experience, and I only get attacks every so often. I hear it's very painful for some people. I didn't even know that it could be triggered by wearing jewelry with large stones.

This. So much. My ring sat on the bookshelf for about a year before he proposed. Right in front of me.
But, now that we are engaged, it really doesn't feel any different. We're still the same people with the same feelings, except now we're planning a big party. So, I hope that helps you remain patient.
I was lucky that FI only had my ring for a month before he proposed but my sister's ex-FI had her ring for months before he gave it to her. However, with me and FI, we started looking at rings a year before he proposed and we were very seriously looking at rings 8 months before he bought it.
Just know that it could still be a very long time before you have a ring on your finger but looking at rings is a good start.
