    Start with a guesstimate guest list and budget then start venue shopping. Thats what I did first and took it all from there...hth!

    I agree. You have to start looking at how many people you'll have attend. Then, start considering your budget (and adjust these two things accordingly!)

    Then you can start looking at venues because you'll know what's within your financial range and if they can accomodate your guest count!

    Like PP said, best way to start is to figure out a guest list and a budget and go from there.  As far as booking, venue is going to be probably your most important thing to focus on at this point because after that everything else just adds onto it ;)

    Don't worry, there's plenty of brides out there who end up planning weddings in less than a year.  It's totally doable.  I've heard of some knotties who did it in 2-3 months.

    Hey  Getting2Vowels! Congrats on making 12 month mark! Yay!

    It is ok not to have those things. In fact, its exciting. You can do that stuff now :) PP gave you some great places to start. Have you picked up a bride mag yet? I recommend 'REAL SIMPLE's Bridal Guide mag. It has really helped me get organized. Then budget, venue research, and wedding vision inspiration. That's my 2 cents!

    Totally ok. It's still the planning phase!!! We're just starting to make our first big decisions this month. Just get excited, and use planning tools and advice from TK, wedding wire, the other knotties, pinterest...you know, the usuals :) we're here to support each other so next July is the most fantastic wedding month in history!
