Table runner

Are they important/necessary? FI says no, I"m not sure. I'm afraid the tables will be plain with just an ivory table cloth and our centerpiece. I'm just at a loss.

Those using them, where did you get your table runners?

Re: Table runner

  • I'm not using them per say.....I actually made burlap squares to put under my set of 3 vases.  I orignally wanted large wood slabs, but those were going to cost like $150 instead of $20 for burlap!  I'm not doing it for color, but just to have something to tie my centerpieces together.  I think once you think about the plates, possible chargers, and other items that will be on the table, they aren't really that necessary.  If you really want to add something, you could do like me and add a colored napkin.  Our place doesn't do chargers, so I'm going to have green napkins on our ivory tableclothes.

  • I have been able to put a few things in perspective like this....my MOH asked me this simple question and it seem to help me when I'm considering spending more money that I don't really have.....
Ask any person if they remember the table runners at the last wedding they attended?

Sounds kinda stupid, but it has really helped me....I'm not having chair covers...they didn't fit into my budget and I was worried about them at one point, that the room wouldn't look as formal as I pictured it.....she asked me this question...and a whole group of us that were there at the time...no one remembered the chair covers...lol...they remembered the people and the cake and the conversations and pictures...but no one seemed to remember the chair covers....so....I hope this helps Wink

Ditto this!  I am not having chair covers either.  I think it's ridiculous!

  • Thanks again ladies!! FI's best man got married in December and had a beautiful wedding, with lots of personal touches. His wife is super into crafts and DIY and wants to help with wedding stuff but sometimes I just get carried away with thinking I need all of that that I get off track.

FI usually talks me down off the crazy ledge, but he's at work right now :(
