Lake Geneva

My fiance and I are planning a wedding and want to get married at Lake Geneva. We are from Oklahoma but visited there a few years ago and loved it. We are trying to get married this summer. Everyone has told us to look at they Abbey hotel and while it is great, the rooms are a little pricey and we aren't sure all of our out of towners will want to pay that much. Can anyone from the area help us out with other hotels in the area that we can suggest? Any other ideas for the ceremony./recpetion? We really want to get married outside near the water!

Re: Lake Geneva

  • I am not very familiar with all the resorts, but a good friend of mine got married here: http://www.nippersinkresort.com/ I actually was unable to attend because of my sister's wedding that same day, but the pictures looked nice and the ceremony was outside on a nice patio with gazebo.

  • My fiance and I looked at Grand Geneva in December for ceremony and reception. It is a beautiful location. The coordinator we met with seemed to be very on top of things and she will be with you throughout the planning process. The ceremony location would be on top of golf green (background would be buildings), overlooking the golf pond. Lots of great photo locations. The minimum food and drinks (not including chair, linen rentals...etc) is $16,000, that was why we did not choose the location. There is also extra fees for location rental. Hotel rooms for guests run about $120, which is the discounted rate.

  • I got married at Abbey Springs in Fontana, about 2-3 miles up the road from the Abbey.  There is no on site hotel, but they have a tented facilty right next to the water for a ceremony, and then their clubhouse for the reception.  Much more reasonably priced than any of the resorts in the Lake Geneva area are going to be.  I've listed their website below, you'll want to speak with Jenna.  She's a dream to work with and everything for our wedding could not have gone better!  Let me know if you need any other suggestions for vendors in the area for other aspects of the wedding.
