Do Dyable Shoes Shrink?

So, I found the perfect shoes and now I cannot locate them anywhere in my size...

I was thinking about getting a dyable that looks exactly the same and dying them.

Someone mentioned to me that dyables shrink. Is this true? Have you guys dyed shoes? Any tips? Do I need to order a 1/2 size up?

I love that shoe! I wore it in chocolate brown for my best friend's wedding last year and it was so comfy. Where have you looked for it? I'm really surprised you can't find it!

I have searched everywhere online.... Zappos, ShoeBuy, Carsons, no one has a 7.5 (I guess these run big? Did yours?) I usually wear an 8. I want the Navy ones...sigh.

Should I just get them in Ivory and give in or should I dye the dyables? I wonder if they are as comfy as the originals.

You can custom order these from the Nina website. They are a bit more expensive but you'll get them in the color you want (with the option to add rhinestones). Because they are custom, they are non-returnable.

I was just looking at shoes today and am thinking of getting shoes that look exactly like this, but they are by Colorful Creations.  Check out the website for Lori's Shoes!  There's one in Lincoln Park and a few other locations.

Hey MayBride, yeah those are the dyables that I found too, I am just nervous about dying shoes so was wondering if anyone had done it and had tips or advice? I also don't want the dye to get wet and dye my feet or dress.

Hey, Sorry about that!  I should have thoroughly read your post--just saw that you couldn't find a shoe in your size and replied.  I don't have experience with dying shoes but did a google search and found that dyeables can bleed if they get wet.  The website recommended waterproofing spray.

I actually had dyeable shoes that I dyed bright red for prom back in high school, and it ended up raining that night. Needless to say, my feet were completely red by the end of the night. Not sure about the shrinking thing, but I would definitely be worried about them getting wet!

Oh no Cokada, that is what I was worried about! Thinking Navy shoes and white dress in April might not be such a good combo if they are dyed! thanks for the tip! I really appreciate it:)

I wore dyable shoes for my sister's wedding a few years ago, and I had no problem with them shrinking - they fit me just the same before and after they were died.  Hope this helps!
