SIL Gift Advice

Ladies I need your suggestions.

My SIL recently had her 4th marriage and my husband and I were not invited. We are out of state and it was a bit last minute, but I still find it odd we didn't even get an invite. I found out the date and details on FB.

So I guess what I am wondering is, should we get them a gift?  If so, they never had a registry, so I'm kind of at a loss as to what to even get them.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: SIL Gift Advice

  • I think in this case, a nice congratulatory card is fine.  She didn't invite you, and didn't register, and likely isn't expecting gifts anyway (it's her fourth wedding after all).

I appreciate the response. Thank you!
  • If you found out through FB, I don't feel like you need to send a gift. If you really want to, a gift card to a store or restaurant she likes would be nice.

  • I would just send a heartfelt congratulatory card.

  • Send a card but no gift.  No invite, no gift.
  • Send something smalll.  Tons of cute unique gift ideas! check out http://www.etsy.com/shop/moonstonecreation. it is such a cute shop with handstamped jewelry, keychains, cufflinks, etc... Makes great wedding gifts for bridesmaids & groomsmen. I really like the "love is trading in your perals for his dog tags" so sweet.
  • I would say that you don't have to send a gift, but a card would be nice.  If you're really feeling the urge, send her something edible or floral, as it's highly unlikely she needs anything for the home.

Definitely would be irked if I found out via FB as well, but well, at least you didn't have to spend money to fly over?  lol
