How many cupcakes?

Instead of the traditional wedding cake, FI and I are doing cupcakes from this amazing local bakery.

When determining how many cupcakes to serve...what's the best method? Because I know some people won't eat them, some will eat one, and others will want at least two (like my 6'7 brother in law). So how do I determine how many to order? We'll have about 150-175 guests.

We're on a fairly tight budget and would like to order as few as possible while not leaving guests cupcakeless!

We are doing one per guest, but only because we know a lot of the older people won't eat them and we have a lot of babies on the guest list. To be safe, I'd add 50 or so. GL!

Edit: Make that a total of 200. (Not 50 on top of 175)

I would say 175. You definitely want to be covered and have one available for each guest if they want one. If some guests don't eat theirs then guests who want a second could probably go up and grab a leftover cupcake?

I'd go with 200. It's safe and a reasonable number!

I'm doing the same thing. I'm glad you asked this question, I was worried about how many also!

I would suggest this to the bride and see if she will go for it. If not, I'd go with the 2 or 3 per person just to be safe because the guest will not more than 3 .If you go 1 per person ,suppose the guest ask more than 1,then would  be wrong. My suggestion is be on the safe side.

You need 1 per person.  So 175.

Anything more is fine too, but I wouldn't get more than 225.
