Name That Color!

FI and I think we've chosen a color we'd like to include in our wedding - Chevy's Camaro's Aqua Blue Metallic.  I find using a car color wonderfully appropriate for us, but it's not really a color I'd call "aqua blue."   What would you call it?

    As long as you have the color itself, it doesn't matter at all what the name is. No two manufacturers of anything with the same color will call the name the same. Even if you find two things with the same color name, they won't be the same shades. Using the name aqua as an example, the name is applied to anything from the palest teal to the darkest and a million other names are used for the same color as well. Some examples are turqouise, Caribbean, pool, Tiffany blue, seafoam, and the list goes on.

    As far as the picture itself, since you can't tell colors accurately online at all, I can't see any turquoise in it. It looks like regular blue to me.

    It's almost like metallic steel blue.  I like it!  Marine blue might be close.  You may want to go to a hardware store and match the color on a paint chip, unless you want to carry a picture of the car everywhere you go...

    I did it, and it's calling it "Prussian Blue."

    But like PPs said, you're probably better off just carrying a paper paint swatch around with you to vendors. Try Home Depot or a hardware store that sells paint.

    You may be setting yourself up for failure using such an obscure color.  Keep an open mind.  Navy might be a good fall back.

    I would grab as many paint chips that you think might be close as you can, then go see the car in person and compare.  Colors can vary drastically from monitor to monitor, so everyone responding may be seeing a slightly different color.

    But blue-green in particular is a real pain in the ass to match exactly, so you may have to settle for something that's somewhat close, or stick to using it very sparingly as an accent color.

    Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married.     Pine, teal, and blue spruce also come to mind but  Prussian Blue is probably a good name for it.
