brazilian room catering options

I have booked my wedding at the brazilian room in berkley and have recieved a list of approved caterers.  Unfortunately I am not local so I will be unable to do any tastings.  I need help narrowing down the list are there any brides out there with negative experiences with any of the following caters.

AG Ferrari Foods, Ann Walker Catering ,The Arlington, Back to Earth, Carrie Dove Catering, Checkers Catering, Cullinary Excellence, Miraglia Catering, Palmdale Estates Catering, The Red Door, Royal Raspberr, Schuman's Four Seasons Catering, Serves You Right,  Stella Nonna, Swanky Catering, Trumpet Vine Catering, Wild Thyme Catering.

    Serves You Right - had mostly good experiences almost booking them for my wedding not at the Brazilian Room. I just found a cheaper option. Though I thought I was very clear on what I wanted from the beginning, they kept adding additional charges as we finalized the menu. Example: My very first e-mail to them said we had to have asparagus. As we finalized the menu, they said asparagus would be like $100 extra because it wouldn't be in season. This was after giving me quotes. Their quotes also got hard to compare. They have discount menus on their website and sent us a different discount menu because our wedding is on a Monday. We had to do a tricky side-by-side comparison to figure out if there was a deal we were missing.

    Still, I consider these minor gripes. I almost booked them. We did a tasting and loved their food. They were very professional, just real business people. My gripes are things I expected to encounter from all caterers, and did from most of the caterers we dealt with.

    Checkers - Met them at an open-house tasting at the Brazilian Room. Took their card. E-mailed them. They never responded. I can't remember if I did any follow-up e-mail.

    [Not responding to initial e-mails or online requests for information was a common thing with the caterers we tried to contact.]

    A friend of mine used Ann Walker and had a great experience... she said they helped make sure everything ran smoothly!

    I got married at the Brazillian Room and used "Serves you Right." The food was delicious and the staff was professional and extremely helpful. Marcie and Matt have everything down to a science and were easy to work with. I appreciated that there weren't any hidden costa and helped me with the planning process. For me it was between SYR and Culinary Excellence. I loved the food for Culinary Excellence at the tasting and the owner is very meticulous and easy to work with. I ultimately chose SYR because of the gnocchi, the reasonable pricing and the menu they offered.
